Event Recap from Defining Human-Centered Organizations Over 50 participants gathered to explore a critical question: How do we ensure that no one is left behind in the AI revolution? Through facilitated discussions using Thinkscape® from Unanimous AI, we explored three core questions about human-centered organizations: Principles: The community identified mutual respect, empathy, transparency, and purpose beyond profit as foundational values for human-centered organizations. Policies: Key directions included reinvesting AI productivity gains into human thriving, including all stakeholders in decision-making, and building AI literacy across organizations. Practices: Participants emphasized prioritizing people over profits, including diverse voices in decision-making, and investing in comprehensive leadership development. Notable insights emerged around the need for specificity in our language, learning from history (the Luddites weren't anti-technology but anti-dehumanization), and recognizing that this work matters regardless of which specific technologies emerge. As I noted when framing the conversation and facilitating the event, we're at a defining moment—similar to when "social media" was named, where diverse voices, especially youth and those most impacted, must shape what emerges.
