You don’t need to know everything - just how to learn anything My college student daughter was stuck on a problem this week and asked for my help. I gave her the same tip I use myself when I hit a wall: - Throw it into ChatGPT and ask it to explain it like you’re in high school. It works. Every time. I’ve used it when: - Going down a rabbit hole on solar power and clean energy - Trying to make sense of a new algorithm or data set - Or even decoding what our chief marketing officer is pitching me She tried it - and sure enough, she got it. The learning lesson: You don’t have to know everything. But you do need to know how to use the tools that help you learn anything. That’s a superpower worth teaching. #AI #LearningTools #GrowthMindset #ChatGPT #FutureOfWork

ChatGPT helped my daughter study for her chemistry test - in spite of her school’s bad decision to ban AI. For the record: I have a bachelor’s in chemistry, and I actually love helping her study. But last night, she needed something a little different. Something a little less... mom. (She was dealing with more than just school stress.) So I handed her a tool. And a little trust. “Tell ChatGPT what your test is on. Ask it to quiz you. This is the future. You deserve to try it.” She used it. It worked. She was calm, focused, and better prepared, because she was in charge. Her school may be banning AI, but we’re learning how to use it strategically at home. And that’s the real story playing out behind the scenes: → AI isn’t replacing thinking. → It’s giving our kids a way to practice thinking, on their terms. → It’s helping them rebuild agency when life feels messy and uncertain. We don’t need more bans. We need better guidance. And more trust in our kids’ ability to grow. If we want to build future-ready schools, we have to stop acting like the future is dangerous. #AIinEducation #ParentPerspective #StudentAgency #FutureOfLearning #edtech #instructionaldesign #aiforeducation

I find it a huge problem for AI to be pushed to be banned, rather than a push towards guidance, training, and awareness around such a powerful tool. Alright let’s entertain the idea that AI will be banned in schools, (despite the fact that I guarantee many teachers will be using AI themselves), what happens when the child’s back at home? The hours away from school where they do have exposure to such tools? AI can faulter your ability to think and make you lazy, even more of a reason why teaching our youngsters to critically think and effectively use such tools is needed.

Should AI be handling your child's deepest needs? According to Harvard Business School's latest research, people primarily use AI for therapy, organizing their lives, and finding purpose. At Curious Cardinals, we are big proponents of responsible AI use. We know it's an important tool that kids not only need to learn, but also understand how to use responsibly. But the fact remains, the deepest connections, the greatest breakthroughs, the most insightful advice -- all come from people. Execution is AI-assisted, but inspiration is human-powered. While some are swept up in AI excitement — telling kids "just use ChatGPT for homework" — we're missing what they actually need: - Real confidence (not just good grades) - Genuine curiosity (not just completing assignments) - The ability to adapt (because we don't know what jobs will exist) After five years of helping students navigate this changing world, we've seen what separates kids who thrive from those who struggle: They have humans in their corner and genuine interests that drive them to learn. Don't allow your child's identity to be outsourced to ChatGPT. Here are three things you can do this school year to prepare your child for whatever the future holds: 1. Help them find their thing 2. Talk about AI together 3. Build their human support network Learn more at the 🔗 below. --- #MentorshipMatters #BackToSchool #AIready #parenting

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬—𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐤𝐢𝐝𝐬 This past weekend I had a conversation with my youngest son (11): “Dad, why do I still need to go to school if ChatGPT already knows everything? You’re already working with AI.” Of course, the timing of his question had everything to do with school starting again next week. A pure, curious question from a child. And to be frank, I couldn’t answer it right away. The longer you work with AI, the more you realize that other skills are becoming even more important. One of my biggest epiphanies: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬. Back in my accountancy days, we were trained to ask sharp, critical questions to clients. I always found it fascinating how partners and directors could shift an entire conversation with just one question. That same professional critical mindset is exactly what GenAI demands. The better your questions, the higher the chance the output will be meaningful. And with that output, you can dive into the right rabbit holes and uncover the edges worth exploring. So what did I tell my son? That school is where you learn how to learn (a skill in itself), how to collaborate with others, and hopefully how to develop #𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠. Because in our house, that’s a core value. What do you think is the most important skill kids and adults should learn in the age of AI? #AI #FutureOfWork #CriticalThinking #Leadership #LifelongLearning

Friends, I share my impressions with you! 📺 It was very interesting to discuss the question that worries many people right now: are we ready for the mass implementation of artificial intelligence? 🧠 The main question of the broadcast: is it worth actively using AI in the development of cities now, if the same ChatGPT often "lies" and then shamefully admits mistakes? 😅 ✅ Yes, you need to learn right now! Technologies are developing at lightning speed, and those who do not keep up will be left behind. ✅ Specialized AI systems work much better than universal ChatGPT. The difference is that ChatGPT is tuned for creativity (hence the "hallucinations"), and special programs can be tuned for accuracy. ✅ Technologies are already available for implementation in projects like "Digital Kyiv". 🚀 What should each of us do? Start using AI today! Learn to write high-quality prompts (requests to artificial intelligence) - this will become a basic skill of the future. Sitting around like previous generations did, working their whole lives at one unchanging job, most likely will not work anymore. 🔮 AI is not a threat, but a tool. It is important to learn how to use it correctly. The future belongs to those who master these technologies today! What do you think? Are you ready for the AI revolution or are you still in doubt? DAY 3 - 30 DAYS & 30 CONCEPTS "ChatGPT doesn’t “think.” It doesn’t “understand.” Yet it talks like a human. How? Let me explain in the simplest way possible 👇" 🤔 Ever wondered how ChatGPT actually “understands” you? It feels like chatting with a human… but under the hood, it’s pure math and patterns. 💡How ChatGPT & other LLMs work: #Training on data: These models are trained on massive amounts of text — books, articles, code, websites. They don’t “know” facts, they learn patterns of language. #Tokenization (Breaking words): Every word you type is split into tiny pieces called tokens. Example: “Running” → “Run” + “ning”. #Prediction engine: At its core, ChatGPT is just a next-word predictor. When you ask: “AI is…”, it calculates probabilities for the next token: “amazing” (70%) “dangerous” (20%) “the future” (10%) It picks the most likely one — and keeps going, word by word. #Neural networks & layers: Billions of artificial “neurons” stacked in layers do these probability calculations at lightning speed. That’s why responses feel so natural. ✨ Important to know: ChatGPT doesn’t “think” or “understand” like humans. It’s not conscious. It’s just really good at predicting what should come next in a conversation. 🤝 If you found this useful, follow me for more daily tech breakdowns and let’s connect here on LinkedIn! #chatgpt #learn #knowledge #neural #prediction #tokenization #trainandTest #llm #artificialintelligence #ai #machinelearning #deeplearning #neuralnetworks #job #jobmarket #billions #motivation #concepts #30dayschallenge

🔦 Attention: The Heart of Transformers and the Power Behind LLMs Have you ever wondered why ChatGPT and other large language models feel so smart? Why can they write essays, debug code, summarize meetings, or even crack jokes like a human? The credit doesn’t just go to “big data” or “supercomputers.” It goes to a simple but powerful idea inside the Transformer model: attention. Attention is the model’s way of doing what we do every day as humans. Think about the last time you were in a busy meeting or scrolling through dozens of Slack messages. You didn’t give equal focus to every word. Your brain filtered out the noise and zoomed in on the one message that mattered: “The deadline is tomorrow.” That ability to know what to focus on and what to ignore is attention. Transformers apply this same principle to language. When reading a sentence, they don’t weigh every word equally. Instead, they learn to highlight the words that matter most for meaning. That’s why, when you ask, “Give me an animal that barks,” the model’s focus shifts to animal and barks, and the answer “dog” comes naturally. What’s wild is how this mirrors us. We don’t store every detail, but we know what deserves our attention to understand and act. Transformers borrowed that human instinct and turned it into math queries, keys, dot products, and softmax. Complex on paper but simple at heart: focus on what matters. And that little trick? That’s what unlocked the leap from old-school AI to the brilliance of today’s LLMs. So next time ChatGPT impresses you, just remember: it’s not magic. It’s attention, doing what our brains have done all along, only at a scale we could never imagine. #ArtificialIntelligence #MachineLearning #DeepLearning #Transformers #AttentionMechanism #LargeLanguageModels #GenerativeAI #ChatGPT #AIFuture #NaturalLanguageProcessing

AI is eating jobs. But you know what it can’t eat? Your network. With ChatGPT writing essays, MidJourney designing posters, and AI tools crunching numbers faster than ever, the “hard skills” gap is shrinking. What sets people apart now isn’t just what they know, it’s who they know and how they learn. That’s why colleges have become more important than ever. Not for the textbooks. Not for the grades. But for: - The friendships that turn into co-founders. - The alumni networks that open doors you didn’t even know existed. - The late-night conversations that spark ideas no AI could generate. In a world where information is free, it’s the people around you who define how far you’ll go. College isn’t just about classes. It’s about building your circle, your tribe, your unfair advantage. Because when AI levels the playing field, networks become the new currency. #AI #Networking #FutureOfWork #College #Relationships #CareerGrowth

1wMy team got me a mug that says "I ❤️ ChatGPT" because I used it so much. I now have matching set along side my "There's a spreadsheet for that" that they had also kindly gifted me previously. 🤣
