There was a season where I thought being “hands-on” was what made me a good leader. I wore burnout like a badge. If I wasn’t exhausted, I thought I wasn’t doing enough. Then I realized something: Being everywhere isn’t leadership. It’s unsustainable. Imagine if you never taught your kids how to help in the kitchen. You cooked every meal. Cleaned every single dish. Set the table. Cleared it. Wiped the counters. Took out the trash. Every. Single. Time. You’d be exhausted—and probably frustrated. Not because your family didn’t care, but because you never created a process that invited them in. Leadership in business is the same. If you’re the only one who knows how to do it “right,” If the team keeps watching while you stay overwhelmed, It’s not because they’re incapable. It’s because there’s no system that shows them how to step up. Being “hands-on” feels noble—until it becomes a bottleneck. Your team doesn’t need your perfection. They need your clarity. Leadership is building systems, transferring trust and designing a business that functions when you step back. If everything still depends on you, it’s not leadership—it’s a liability. 👎🏾 🚨I’ve been building something behind the scenes for the leaders ready to lead smarter, not harder.
