The British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce’s Post

🚀 What an inspiring and thought-provoking event on the Future of Work: AI & The Impact on Talent!   We explored the evolving landscape of work, the role of AI in shaping the future, and the critical skills needed to thrive in this new era. Here are 5 key takeaways from the discussions: 📌 AI’s Role in Productivity: With aging populations impacting productivity, especially in developed nations, AI can help bridge the gap, ensuring continued growth and efficiency 📌 Digital Literacy is Key: Both employees and employers need to be digitally literate to harness the power of AI. With only 52% of the EU being digitally literate, there's a need for upskilling to keep humans in the loop 📌 Balancing AI and Humanity: AI can optimise processes, but it’s essential to maintain humanity in decision-making. Machines can't replicate empathy, values, or the critical thinking humans bring to the table 📌 Strong Leadership is Vital: As we navigate the uncertainties AI brings, strong leadership will be key to guiding teams through these changes while balancing the hopes and fears associated with AI’s integration 📌 AI & Ethics: There’s a growing need for guardrails around AI to ensure ethical usage, including understanding data privacy and mitigating biases in AI systems   A big thank you to our keynote speaker Dr Christopher Ganz and our panellists Adrian Jones, Ayisha PiottiBritta Gross, and Timm Suess, whose insights provided a wealth of knowledge on how AI will shape the future of work. It's all about balance. Love the focus on ethics and leadership.

What an insightful discussion on the Future of Work! 🌟 As we navigate through what seems to be the peak of the AI hype, it's clear that the industry is exploring truly disruptive use cases. The potential to positively impact the triple bottom line—people, planet, and profit—is immense. AI isn't just about enhancing productivity; it's also about creating new opportunities for sustainable development and ethical growth. Balancing technological advancements with human values remains crucial, but the innovations we're seeing today hold promise for a more inclusive and efficient future. As we continue to explore these frontiers, strong leadership and a commitment to ethical practices will be essential in harnessing AI’s full potential. Let’s continue to champion digital literacy and responsible AI use to ensure that these advancements benefit everyone. What are your thoughts on the future of AI in shaping our world? 🚀

Thanks The British-Swiss Chamber of Commerce for putting this on, Hult EF Corporate Education for hosting us, the great fellow panelists and of course Rebecca Churchill for the almost thankless task of pulling all the cats together. One stat from Hopes and Fears I didn’t pull out is the gap we found in worker GenAI usage between countries - daily use in 🇨🇭at 18%, 🌎average at 12% and 🇬🇧down at 6%. This shows the high 🇨🇭appetite for new tech which others can aspire to, as well as the high proportion of skilled jobs in 🇨🇭 which are already being augmented by GenAI. As I said in another post we could have talked for hours…😉
