Also note that competing Ransomware groups have now been found to be utilizing the same tools with competitive collaboration between groups being suspected. I have been finding reports of collaboration between state actors and cybercriminals as well. Traditional approaches to security technology are falling behind and the mouse is creating more distance from the cat. Many are putting their head in the sand and just using the same methods which don’t address one of the root problems of security. Trust. The closest we can get to actual trust is when you can prove integrity.
