On October 14 and 15, 2025, The Switch will take part in the Maritime Hybrid, Electric & Hydrogen Fuel Cells Conference & Exhibition in Bergen. 🚢 The Switch will join the dialogue with a presentation by Asbjørn Halsebakke, Senior Manager, Marine Concepts, who will highlight the DC-Hub as a decarbonization enabler. His talk will explore how modular DC distribution systems simplify the integration of fuel cells, batteries and shore power, enabling phased adoption without the need for a complete redesign. 🌍 Join us at the event to explore how The Switch is helping accelerate the maritime industry’s journey toward sustainable power. #MHEHF2025 Maritime Hybrid, Electric and Hydrogen Fuel Cells Community

💡 Better magnets, lower cost! Researchers at NC State — including Bharat Gwalani, Dr. Aniruddha Malakar, Andrew Martin, Ph.D., Farhan Ishrak, Michael Lastovich, Caleb Schenck, Joe Tracy, and Martin Thuo — have developed a new way to make stronger magnets more efficiently using friction stir consolidation (FSC). ⚡️ The process reduces energy use, avoids oxidation, and creates high-performance magnets that could power the future of EVs, wind turbines, and more. #NCStateEngineering #MaterialsScience #Innovation #Magnets

𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻 Hydrogen; an essential component of a sustainable energy infrastructure. Particularly in sectors where electrification is less straightforward: maritime, aviation industries and defence. By liquefying hydrogen, it becomes possible to transport it efficiently in large quantities. TNO possesses the expertise and infrastructure to conduct small-scale tests with this promising energy carrier. Students from AeroDelft have now successfully made use of these capabilities! AeroDelft is the first student team in the world to build a complete small-scale electric propulsion system for aircraft powered by liquid hydrogen. The result: a successfully operating propeller powered by electricity from a fuel cell, fed by evaporated liquid hydrogen. A milestone for the team, and an important achievement for TNO. ‘We’ve demonstrated what’s possible with our new dedicated test lab,’ says project manager Joke Luyten. Richard Pijpers: 'Together with clients, we aim to move towards a situation where these tests become part of a standard validation process for liquid hydrogen applications.'
