I have learnt that what I love most is being able to assist employees and clients with any questions or needs they require. I have come to the realisation of this from working at de Novo Solutions a leading digital transformation consultancy firm, and DOJ Wealth Management Ltd, a principal partner practice of St. James’s Place where my ten-week internship as a finance administrator has come to an end. I would like to thank the team for welcoming me with open arms and giving me excellent opportunities, from teaching employees about new, innovative platforms for investment such as Flagstone, to developing and streamlining technological transformation processes. I had the privilege to teach and mentor new employees in the team, this taught me about myself and how important it is to have patience and to be persistent; results will appear. DOJ Wealth Management Ltd has been undergoing a massive technological transformation, which I was able to support due to the skills and knowledge I gained at De Novo Solutions. I developed a process for setting up and converting over 1,500 paper client files into digital ones, whilst also keeping a streamlined version of the old paper files in case of any digital issues, such as cyber attacks. This process took time and persistence to develop and refine, with lots of dead ends that allowed me to learn. It has helped me develop significantly as a person. Starting this job, I was hesitant to suggest problems and solutions, whereas now I believe it is pivotal to share your concerns and present new solutions in order to not only be successful as a team but to create a process that works for everyone. In addition to this, I have developed skills such as determination, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. The experience from both de Novo Solutions and DOJ Wealth Management Ltd has allowed me to solidify my areas of interest for my career path. My next hurdle is applying for graduate roles in areas such as tax planning and advisory.
