What happens when you carefully input Judge Judy, Sora styling, and WAN2.2 Animate into a cauldron of creativity? You get a surreal, smooth, and brilliantly expressive AI cocktail in motion! 🔦 Today’s Lighthouse Student Spotlight: Aneel Ramanath At our Academy, we emphasize helping creatives rethink how stories are told rather than just pushing tools. Aneel’s video is a small testimony to this and uses: 🧠 A reference video → to generate motion + facial expression 🎨 A style transfer image (via Sora) → for character consistency ⚙️ WAN2.2 Animate → to unify it all into one uncanny animated moment And it’s awesome because — It shows off the context window in WAN2.2 Animate, leading to far smoother frame transitions and better color consistency compared to earlier versions. We’re seeing more of our students push AI tools toward comedy, surrealism, and fresh formats, and we are 💯% down with it. Massive shoutout to Aneel for this killer creation. More to come from our community soon, so keep your 👀 peeled! From technical depth to a clever narrative twist, this is exactly why we do what we do. And per the timeless wisdom of Judge Judy herself: “You only get one chance at a first impression.” So when you’re ready to leave your GenAI impression, we’re ready to help you 💛 #StudentSpotlight #WANAnimate #GenerativeAI #ComfyUI #AIworkflow #Animation #LighthouseAcademy #CreativeAI

Animation is expensive. Always has been. Always will be (at least if it's made by humans). 💰 Over the years, I've had to explain - sometimes gently, sometimes with charts - that you cannot: - commission a full explainer for your small business in two weeks with $500, - produce an animated trailer for your event "by Friday, please", - get a birthday short film for your dog (yes, a dog), 🐕 - or adapt your 400-page novel into a feature-length animation… on the same budget as a decent dinner for two. For a long time, I had my "standard speech" ready: 24 frames per second, 20 backgrounds per minute, 5–20 seconds of finished animation per week. We in the animation industry had said this so often, it became a reflex. (Once, a glamorous friend of mine - an animator - was walking alone late at night. A shady guy stopped her with the classic "How much?" She answered, without missing a beat: "$1,000 per minute. 3D costs extra." The look on his face must have been priceless.) But here we are in the Brave New World. Now the response to all this is: "But what about AI?" 🤖 Blessed be the miracles of technological progress. Funny thing: the people who say this rarely open MidJourney or Runway themselves (which would cost them, at worst, the price of a monthly subscription). Instead, they expect someone else to do it for them - for free, or almost free - and get very offended if that someone doesn't drop everything and come running, losing their slippers on the way. The tools evolve, but the expectation of quality work for free? That's eternal. 🎯 #animation #AI #creative #business #freelance

Excited to share this animated video visualizing the RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) flow! The animation transforms a static image into a clear, engaging sequence that highlights each step—query input, retrieval from the knowledge base, response generation, and output. With smooth transitions, vibrant colors, and intuitive visuals, it makes a complex AI workflow easy to understand in just a few seconds. This is a quick and effective way to grasp how RAG works and how AI can leverage external knowledge for smarter responses.

How to turn one photo into a video with AI Here’s how simple it is: 1 photo - 5 angles - animation - finished video. The Nano Banana tool (inside Google Gemini) creates new camera angles, changes lighting, and even removes extra text - all automatically. Then you can bring the image to life through Discord -completely free. Some simple prompts to try: slow orbit around subject, cinematic, 5 seconds - smooth camera rotation around the person gentle camera push-in -soft zoom-in rising smoke only light smoke effect, no fire AI isn’t just for photo editing anymore. It helps you film straight from imagination. Try it - one photo can become an entire movie.

3 Text Effects That Look Cool (3rd Is My Favourite — Must Try!) Here are 3 text effects I love using in my edits, the 3rd one is my favourite and you must try it 👇 ✨ 1) Fake Typewriter Effect (in Premiere) If you’re using After Effects, there’s a direct preset for the Typewriter effect, but it’s not available in Premiere. 😅 I don’t know if you use this or not, but here’s one secret: apply the Crop effect to the full line of text and keyframe its Right property from 100% to 0% as the speaker says the word. 🎯 2) Fade In Up + Pop Up Using Opacity plus Position with the Transform effect makes it feel like your text is coming in with a jump, it looks really nice. And if you want a pop-up look, animate the Scale property: start from 0 at the beginning, then go to 110 after a few frames, and finally settle at 100%. 💎 3) Fade In (My Favourite) Animating Opacity from 0% to 100% in just 6 frames gives a very cool effect. I mostly use this one because it looks much smoother and nicer to me. Which is your go-to text effect? Let me know, I’d love to learn that too! #VideoEditing #MotionGraphics #AfterEffects #PremierePro #TextAnimation #ContentCreation #VideoTips #EditorsLife #MotionDesign

Here’s a quick concept for a short. I experimented with AI tools to animate my character, that I designed, modeled, and textured by hand, using it as a pre-visualization tool to explore ideas. I used Adobe Firefly for SFX, Premiere Pro for editing/audio, and Kling 2.5 for animation. It's definitely not something to use for final work. There are glaring issues, but I feel something like this is to be used for previz and concepting. One example: I originally planned for the monster to look under the bed, but once I saw it on screen, it didn’t have the impact I imagined. That led me to pivot to the closet scene instead, showing how I used these tools to explore, iterate, and test creative ideas rather than replace them. I’m exploring various tools to see how I can use them as just that. A tool.

🚀 Wan 2.2 Animate – The Future of Character Animation? AI isn’t just generating images anymore — it’s bringing them to life. Alibaba’s Wan 2.2 Animate is the latest example of how fast creative tools are evolving. Here’s what makes it exciting 👇 ✅ What It Can Do Animate a static character image using motion from a video. Replace characters in a video while preserving identity. (Currently support 1 character video upto 30 seconds length) Capture facial expressions + body movement with surprising accuracy. Use relighting to blend characters naturally into new scenes. ⚖️ Pros & Cons Pros ✔️ Turns static designs into animations. ✔️ Powerful for marketing & storytelling. ✔️ Open-source, with support for ComfyUI / HuggingFace. Cons ❌ Sometimes brightness/contrast shifts between frames. ❌ Occasional artifacts (misaligned faces, glitches). ❌ Heavy compute needed for high-quality output. 💡 Why It Matters for Designers This isn’t about replacing us — it’s about expanding our toolkit. Imagine taking your flat illustrations and instantly showing them in motion, or swapping characters into real ads. That’s a big leap in creative possibilities (and client value). 🔮 What do you think? Would you use AI to animate your designs? #AIAnimation #WanAnimate #AlibabaAI #GraphicDesign #MotionDesign #PromptEngineering #FutureOfDesign #AIForCreatives #DesignInnovation

NEW PSA COMMERCIAL: AI-Powered Satire Meet the American Council for Bubble Gum, a completely fictitious organization defending “the right to chew gum made with sugar” in this mock serious, patriotic PSA. This project was a fun experiment using Kling 2.5 for the first time. The bubble gum character is a pretty generic execution but I wanted something simple that would not get motion artifacts in the AI animation model. I used Google Nano Banana to create and iterate different start frames and angles. This short was fully AI-assisted from concept to render: 🖼️ Image Generation: Google ImageFX + Google Nano Banana 🎞️ Animation: Kling AI (via Freepik) 🎨 Editing & Color: Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 🎤 Voiceover: ElevenLabs 🔊 Music & SFX: Canva ✍️ Concept, writing & direction: Me #AIart #motiondesign #specad #creativeexperiment #videoproduction #aianimation #DaVinciResolve #Canva #satire #PSA Curious Refuge #commericalproduction #satire

@highlight Hey everyone — new video up for AI Makers Guild! This one marks the beginning of a long-term project: creating a home-grown AI animation and editing studio. In this first episode, I put together a short cinematic intro using my logo. It took about 30 minutes, features realistic AI narration (currently via ElevenLabs — but the goal is 100 % local generation), and uses a simple Ken Burns-style motion for that slow-pan cinematic feel. Over the next few weeks (maybe months), this project will evolve into a system that can: • Generate full cartoon-style shorts • Handle basic video editing automatically • Cut filler words like “ums” and “ahs” • Add intros, outros, and interstitials on the fly It’s the first brick in building an AI-powered creative studio at home.
