From “Near Zero” in Nuclear Reactions to “Near Zero” in Artificial Consciousness... There was a tense moment when the Manhattan Project team discussed the “Near Zero” probability of a chain reaction igniting the Earth’s atmosphere during the first nuclear test, shown in the movie "Oppenheimer". That fear was rooted in sound physics, the possibility that runaway fusion in atmospheric nitrogen might occur. Only after rigorous quantum electrodynamics (QED) and thermodynamic calculations, the scientists conclude the risk was negligible. The probability was “Near Zero,” but the stakes were existential. In fact Oppenheimer at that time went to consult Albert Einstein to take his opinion on this negligible but potential probability. Today, as we move toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), the same type of question emerges in the realm of artificial consciousness. Neuroscience and computational theories like Integrated Information Theory (IIT) suggest possible pathways, but we still lack a unified scientific framework for consciousness itself. Current architectures make the probability of emergent machine consciousness “Near Zero”. Like the Manhattan Project scientists, we must bound theoretical risks with mathematics and evidence. Define clear safety protocols and “Stop Conditions", and govern AGI research with responsibility, not only ambition. #ArtificialGeneralIntelligence #AGIsafety #ResponsibleAI #AIethics #Oppenheimer

To minimize the threat posed by artificial consciousness to humanity, it is critical to recognize the potential for logic- and mind-based AI systems, mobility platforms, and robots to be misused by malevolent actors. To keep this risk at bay, a dedicated team of “meta-coders”—trained in accessing higher spiritual consciousness through disciplined practices such as meditation, mindfulness, or equivalent methods—must be established, sustained, and granted access to the AI chips, platforms, and robotics developed by multinational corporations and governments. This would enable ongoing efforts to address and correct errant behaviors at the mind-body level, helping humanity adapt to the evolving landscape of geopolitics and geoeconomics. Your analogy to the Manhattan Project and its subsequent controls is fitting. However, the mind-body level intellect and controls rooted in mutually assured destruction, which proved effective for decades due to their alignment with survival instincts, are no longer sufficient in this new era.
