The EY and WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development collaboration has designed a new value-chain approach to accelerate business emissions reduction. WBCSD – World Business Council for Sustainable Development member companies make a huge contribution to the global economy (~24% of the global annual corporate revenue) and also account for approximately a quarter of the annual #GHG emissions. These companies are taking action, but faster progress is needed. Our collaboration has identified a significant impact opportunity to reduce emissions and improve business performance by focusing on collective action opportunities in value chains by activating WBCSD's unique global member portfolio. As an outcome of our collaboration, the WBCSD’s Emissions Reduction Accelerator (#ERA) will be announced during #ClimateWeekNYC 2025 and launched at COP30 Brazil. #ERA will help member companies map, track and demonstrate acceleration in aggregate #GHG emissions reductions to 2030, begging with 2 pilot value chains - Build Environment and FLAG.
