On July 31st, 2025, our Director of Business Operations, Derek Norton, represented Whelan Machine at Southern High School’s Business Partnership Kickoff for the 2025–2026 school year in Louisville, KY. The event began with a group session focused on aligning broader goals for the school year, followed by breakout discussions tailored to the individual career academies. Whelan Machine is honored to support the METAL Academy, which plays a key role in preparing students for careers in manufacturing, engineering, and the trades. In the breakout session, business partners collaborated with school leaders to share insights, align on goals, and offer feedback on how to better equip students with the skills they’ll need to succeed in the workforce.
