10 Tips and Lessons from Successful Entrepreneurs

Starting a business is exciting, but let’s be honest—it’s also a wild ride filled with challenges, risks, and plenty of learning curves. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to level up, there’s no better way to grow than by learning from those who’ve already walked the path.

In this article, we’ll dive into 10 valuable tips and lessons from successful entrepreneurs—insights that can help you navigate the ups and downs of running a business. From mindset shifts to practical strategies, these lessons come from people who’ve built thriving companies and overcome the same struggles you might be facing.

No matter your industry, these insights will give you the motivation to push forward with confidence. So grab a cup of coffee, take some notes, and let’s explore what it takes to succeed in business!

“Sell before you even make a product” – Alexander Storozhuk, founder of PRNEWS.IO

This might sound like a call to "sell air," but consider: If you can't sell the idea, you likely will not be able to sell your physical product, especially if accompanying production problems arise and consume your focus. I recommend collecting pre-orders to help you get an idea of whether consumers are interested in your product.

“Focus on long-term goals” – Jeff Bezos, Amazon

Bezos advises future entrepreneurs to focus on the long-term vision for their business. He emphasizes that entrepreneurs should not be distracted by short-term gains but rather concentrate on creating lasting value.

“Never be the smartest in the room” – Michael Dell

If you’re the smartest person in the room, your business can’t continue to climb. Your ego will be your downfall because you need to be the one who has all the answers, instead of having knowledgeable people around you that you can rely upon. Surround yourself with those who are smarter than you because they’re the ones who will help you take your business far.

“To be more productive, theme your days” – Jack Dorsey

You need to dedicate certain days to certain tasks so that you will know exactly what your day will consist of. For example, on Mondays, you will focus on marketing, on Tuesdays you will focus on sales and so on. This allows you to get more done each day, which leads to you accomplishing all your outlined goals for your different business functions.

“Unhappy customers are the best customers” – Bill Gates

Your unhappy customers are the ones who will give you the greatest feedback about your business. Their honest opinions are what you need to hear so that you can learn how to improve your service. This allows you to fix your mistakes so that your business is providing products or services with the best value possible.

“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey (Financial Expert & Entrepreneur)

Always have an oversight of your finances.

“Learn to delegate” – Bonnie Christine, founder of Bonnie Christine Design

Delegation is crucial to business growth. It enables you to focus on strategic matters, while your team handles day-to-day operations.

“Start with a small step” – Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook

Large, complicated projects may look scary but don’t risk falling into procrastination.

“I think a simple rule of business is, if you do the things that are easier first, then you can make a lot of progress.” – Mark Zuckerberg

“Love what you do” – Steve Jobs, Apple

Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

“The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.”  – Henry Ford, founder of Ford

Don’t be afraid of mistakes

Stay committed to personal and professional growth, and you’ll be well on your way to building a thriving business.

Senior Software Engineer at Code Leap

I’m sharing this to raise awareness and hopefully resolve an ongoing issue. I worked as a Senior Backend Engineer (Independent Contractor) with Kasha, from February 2025 until 15 May 2025. Despite fulfilling all contractual responsibilities, including notice period, I have not received my final salary. After multiple attempts to communicate and resolve this issue professionally, I sent multiple emails to the company to request salary payment but receive no response from the Head of HR (Branislava Yovich), and Co-Founder (Jurgen Calleja). The last email was on 11th June 2025 I understand that startups can face operational challenges, but withholding payment for completed work is unacceptable. I’m sharing this to protect others and to encourage resolution. If anyone has had similar experiences or advice about cross-border disputes or UAE small claims process, I welcome your insights. For Kasha clients, what do think if you use Money (Banking) module, then all your money is disappear someday, and you cannot contact anyone from Kasha?
