2017 ELD Compliance and Beyond...

Now that the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate is one step closer to coming into force for the trucking industry, early 2017 is sure to be busy as the deadline for compliance comes into clear view.

Blue Tree’s ELD solution is already hugely popular with some of the biggest players in the industry and we are confident that this will continue in 2017. Here are some of the reasons on which that confidence is based.

Drivers love our ELD

ELDs and Hours of Service are one of the key use cases for Blue Tree’s advanced telematics system for trucks.

Drivers love our electronic logging device for its simple to understand, easy-to-use interface—and the the unique HOS Advisor which automates their Hours of Service (HOS) calculations, alerts them when available hours are running low, and advises on options available to maximize remaining hours at any time during the day.

On the road, driver downtime is also eliminated with Blue Tree’s unique ability to allow drivers to correct and edit their non-drive duty states.

Blue Tree’s solution is available on any Android device. Fleets can choose to bring their own device, or select one of our recommended devices: the Garmin Fleet 670 or the Tom Tom Bridge.

ELD reporting on FleetManager.com

Back at the office, dispatchers, safety and compliance managers use FleetManager.com to review HOS information, using Blue Tree’s HOS management software’s powerful reporting tools, cross-border platform and the advanced level of data available from HOS Advisor.

Dispatch managers use HOS data during the scheduling of jobs and deliveries, to react and advise customers about changes to delivery times. The HOS information can be easily integrated into other dispatch and transport management systems like McLeod Software or TMW Systems.

Existing customers who have our current Electronic Onboard Recording (EOBR) product will have their software updated with all ELD features using over-the-air updates to comply with the mandate. The software runs on Blue Tree’s robust and reliable BT500 hardware platform.

Of course, ELD compliance through HOS applications are not the only reason to select Blue Tree for in-cab software. Driver performance, advanced messaging, truck-specific navigation, automated workflow and electronic driver vehicle inspection reporting (DVIR) are all part of Blue Tree’s mobile in-cab product and platform.
