THE 2019-2020 NBA RESTART

THE 2019-2020 NBA RESTART

‘The NBA is back!’ These are the words that every hoops fan across the globe wanted to hear, and is finally able to watch their favorite teams and players live in action at The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, a.k.a the “NBA Bubble”.

A close game between a mid-table playoff team and a team trying to get into the playoffs saw the Utah Jazz(4) beating the New Orleans Pelicans(11), 106-104 in the opening match of the seeding games. The win for the Jazz saw it's 5 starters tallying double digits in points and Jordan Clarkson scoring a team high of 23 points coming off the bench. They were faced with a valiant effort by the Brandon Ingram led Pelicans, who is considered by many as the lead runner for the Most Improved Player (MIP) Award, scored a team high of 23 points and was accompanied by the veteran JJ Redick's 21 points. The Pelicans, along with the Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs, Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns, are looking to take the Memphis Grizzlies's 8th and final spot in the Western conference standings to make it into the playoff picture. The Washington Wizards are vying with the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic to secure the final standing in the Eastern conference standings.

The final game of the re-start night saw the LA Lakers(1) beating the LA Clippers(2), 103-101 in the battle for the throne of LA. They were fronted by Anthony Davis’s strong scoring night of 34 points on 16/17 shooting from the free throw line for whom the Clipper's had no answer. His running mate Lebron James’s tallied a near triple-double of 16 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists, who went on to score the game winning basket. Lebron James also clamped down each of the Clipper's star duo in the final possession of the game to secure the win for his team. The LA Clippers, who were trailing by 12 points at the end of the first quarter came back from the deficit and had a double digit lead of their own into the 3rd quarter, led by Paul George’s efficient shooting night of 6/11(54.5%) from the 3PT line and a overall dominant game from the reigning Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard, who scored 28 points and secured 2 steals and 2 blocks for his team.

Will either of the LA teams make it to the finals, or is there someone else knocking at that door? Are the Milwaukee Bucks a lock for the east, or is it finally time for The Process to execute?
