26 Years, 100 Lifetimes: Building a Legacy From My Bedroom
I woke up this morning. That is a blessing in itself and the grace of an almighty, powerful, and loving God. However, I was excited to wake up this morning. Because it’s another day to shine my light on the world. As I always say, I am an instrument of God, but a deity among men. As I look around my room, I’m engulfed in art, books, and inventions that are my very own. Everyday I stare and gaze upon my creations like, “damn I really did this.” You know it’s real when you amaze yourself. Today, I did something I never really do, and that was Google myself. Before I could even finish typing ‘Dedrick Conway,’ my name popped up, and so did the author.
I clicked my name immediately and saw how my knowledge panel on Google was flawless. It excited me so much that I set out and did everything I had told myself I would do. And as I sat there gazing into the screen, it displayed most of my catalog of books, paintings, articles, and exclusive interviews I had conducted for O.T.M. As I went through what others had to say about me and my professional endeavors, one statement stood out to me: “This kid has published a lifetime of artwork, and he does look a day over twenty-one.”
That just made my morning, and I haven’t even started my day yet. One hundred fourteen books, thousands of blogs, a plethora of news articles, 50+ paintings, and handmade instruments that change the way people think and apply information, all created from a bedroom, is remarkable.
And what’s even crazier is that it’s been less than five years since the start of my professional creative career. Despite all of this, I have one regret… I wish I had started sooner. Still, I have unconsciously outpaced myself by simply thinking, creating, and living freely. I suggest you do the same. No one makes it out alive anyway. So live in your truth, and leave a mark on the world so that once it’s all over, you live for eternity.
