4 Reasons Why You Need To Approach A Travel Consultant For Your Next Trip

If you need a consultant for your taxes, why not one for your travel?

Let’s start with a story. France had been on my travel list since a while. After a lot of deliberation and approval of my work leave application, I booked the cheapest flight to Paris and the most pocket-friendly hotel I could find off the internet. Upon landing, my travel nightmares began to unfold. My hotel, though inexpensive, was far from most of the places I wanted to visit. I kept an entire day to explore the Louvre Museum, only to reach there and find out it was closed since it was a Tuesday. Even my visit to the Eiffel Tower was stalled by a few hours, thanks to the long ticket line I had to wait in.

Needless to say, my trip tanked. Not because I didn’t have a proper itinerary, but because I spent more time romanticising about a trip, than planning it.

That’s when I realised how crucial a well-planned trip can be. After all, you are shelling out a lot of money. It is here that travel consultants come into play. Not may of us pay heed to their services, but they are what save the day; in fact, save an entire trip.

1. Offline agents are a passé:

You walk into a travel agent’s office and tell them your budget, and all they’ll do is pull out an existing itinerary that can be covered in your quoted cost. There’s no new information, no clever allocation of time and activities, no alternatives for destinations. The result being you paying for something you weren’t keen on doing in the first place.

Travel consultants don’t work with clichés; they curate an entire trip based on your time and preferences.

2. Time constraints:

You have deadlines to meet, bills to pay and a boss to convince for your holiday leave. Of course you’re busy and don’t have time to research about a destination and all that you can do there.

That’s where travel consultants step in. Since they’ve already understood what kind of traveller you are, they craft out a trip for you, conduct the research on your behalf and cut through the clutter, giving only that information which is relevant to you.

3. Don’t know where to look:

The internet is full of “Best things to do” and its only natural to get overwhelmed by all the information overload. You’re travelling to Seychelles but don’t know how to go about with your island-hopping. Or you’re backpacking across Europe and need to find the most suitable train route from one country to another. It’s confusing, no doubt.

Instead of racking your brains behind tricky travel situations, why not go to the experts?

4. Maximising experiences:

Travelling doesn’t stop at being just another activity; it is an experience of its own. Given the time, money and other factors that go into taking a vacation, you shouldn’t have to settle for anything less than perfect. Imagine you’re in Spain and want to take up a cooking class to learn how to cook Paella, or need a recreational activity especially for your grandmother who is travelling with you. That’s the job of a travel consultant to make these arrangements so as to enhance your travel experience.

So the next time you decide to travel somewhere, know that there are multiple layers to trip planning which need to be taken care of that are best handled by travel consultants. After all, it’s better to be safe than sorry! And if at all you're looking for a consultant who ticks all the checkboxes, contact us at Taxidio.
