5 Wellness Practices for Women on International Women's Day
We do not need a day to celebrate Women's day, every day is women's day, and many say this. But I say we need a day to celebrate womanhood, the courage, and patience she possesses every moment, every stage and every phase of her life. As a Yoga and wellness coach, what I predominantly see is ignorance of own health, putting everything else first
In my upcoming book, I write, " Women have the various roles she plays, especially in this modern world like mom, daughter, daughter-in-law, employee, business owner, friend, and wife. Along with the many roles she plays, comes different responsibilities and different obligations. Naturally, she has to fit in many things within the day to keep her responsibilities, to keep her surroundings happy, to fulfil her ambitions and this has naturally added a lot of stress into her life"
And it's not only physical health but mental and emotional health that women need to care for so they build strength for themselves as well as for their families and the society around them, so she reduces fatigue, burnout, stress, anxiety and build compassion, steadiness, support, happiness for herself and for others.
Here are 5 wellness practices that we can embrace for happy and stress-free days
- Prioritize self-care
“Self-care is not selfish. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.”
~ Eleanor Brownn
Women often prioritize taking care of others over themselves, which can lead to burnout and exhaustion. Taking time for self-care, whether it's through yoga, meditation, or other wellness practices, is crucial for maintaining mental, emotional, and physical health.
2. Connect with other women
"When women support each other incredible things happen"
Connecting with other women can be empowering and provide a sense of community. Consider joining a women's group, attending a women's retreat, or simply reaching out to other women in your life.

3. Embrace your unique qualities
"Embrace who you are, Be yourself; everyone else is already taken."
– Oscar Wilde
Celebrate the qualities that make you unique and honour your individuality. Don't be afraid to speak your truth and live authentically. It's common for people, especially women, to compare themselves to others, and social media can amplify this. However, it's important to remember to celebrate and honor your unique qualities and not be afraid to speak your truth and live authentically. By doing so, you can experience personal growth and greater happiness in life.
4. Practice gratitude
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough.” – Anonymous
Taking time to reflect on what you're grateful for in your life can bring a lot of positivity. It's important to acknowledge and appreciate the women who have supported and inspired you along the way, whether it's family members, friends, mentors, or other role models. This can help cultivate a sense of gratitude and foster deeper connections with those around you.
5. Give back
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill
Consider giving back to other women in your community or around the world through volunteering, donating to a women's organization, or mentoring a younger woman. Simply give back to the world in whatever form you can, this is the highest form of happiness.
Ultimately, International Women's Day is about celebrating the strength, resilience, and achievements of women. By coming together and supporting one another, we can create a world where all women have the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
