50! We're on Fire!
The UNC Kenan-Flagler MAC admission team has been working overtime this fall to bring in the best and brightest accounting students for 2016. We just passed the 50 enrolled student mark for the on-campus group...that's nearly twice as many enrolled students as last year at this time. The online class starting in January is also booming, with double the number of students enrolled compared to our goal. We're on fire!
Some highlights of the students we have admitted so far:
- TWO professional soccer players have enrolled (one for online, one for campus)
- Majors of students admitted range from physics and chemistry to psychology and political science to economics and business. My most recent admitted student was a vocal performance and dramatic arts major!
- Some of the best undergraduate universities in the US are represented by our incoming students including William and Mary, UW Madison, Tufts, UVA, Ohio State, Minnesota and of course a number of double Tar Heels.
- For several of our students, the MAC is not their first graduate degree. We have students joining us this year with graduate degrees from Stanford, Chicago and University of Southern California.
- We have already awarded $250,000 in fellowship support to the most competitive candidates that applied early.
I'm so excited about the talents and abilities that the next class of MAC students is bringing. It is shaping up to be one of the best groups we've ever had. If you plan on applying to join us in 2016, do it soon! We've still got room for you, but spots are going fast.
