AI Hype in OTT: Democratising Digital Tools to Accelerate Growth

Article content

AI is transforming the OTT market by enhancing user experience and content delivery, but smaller broadcasters often struggle to access and deploy these powerful tools due to limited resources and expertise. The key to overcoming this challenge lies in democratizing AI, making it accessible for broadcasters of all sizes to drive growth and improve engagement.

AI-powered features like personalised content recommendations, automated content management, enhanced user experience, targeted advertising, and globalisation through subtitling and dubbing enable platforms to deliver more relevant and engaging content. However, implementing AI comes with challenges such as high costs, complex system upgrades, and the need for skilled developers, which can be more difficult for smaller players. Ethical handling of user data also remains a key concern.

Wassim Sabbagh, CEO and Founder, Mangomolo shares details of AI Hype in OTT: Democratising Digital Tools to Accelerate Growth. To read more about this article check out - https://ottverse.com/ai-hype-in-ott/

EME, CDM, AES, CENC, and Keys – The Essential Building Blocks of DRM

Article content

A DRM (Digital Rights Management) system secures digital content by encrypting videos and controlling access through a license-based mechanism. The process begins with the DRM server providing an encryption key to secure the video, which is then streamed to the user in an encrypted format. The player requests the decryption key from the DRM license server, which verifies the user's credentials and grants access if authenticated.

Adaptive Bitrate Streaming (ABR) ensures smooth playback by adjusting video quality based on network conditions using protocols like MPEG-DASH and HLS. Common Encryption (CENC) allows a single encryption format to work with multiple DRM systems like Widevine, PlayReady, and FairPlay. The Content Decryption Module (CDM) within the browser handles encryption and decryption securely, while the Encrypted Media Extensions (EME) API allows the player to communicate with the CDM and license server, enabling a seamless and secure viewing experience.

Krishna Rao Vijayanagar, Founder of OTTVerse, shares details about EME, CDM, AES, CENC, and Keys – The Essential Building Blocks of DRM. To read more about this article check out - https://ottverse.com/eme-cenc-cdm-aes-keys-drm-digital-rights-management/
