Smarter marketing. Simpler systems. Real results. Issue #5 — Week of May 20, 2025

Welcome or welcome back!

We’re officially past the “shiny new toy” phase with AI. This is about traction now—showing up consistently, marketing with confidence, and finally ditching the content chaos.

Here’s what’s working this week.

This Week’s Wins

OpenAI just improved ChatGPT’s writing quality - It’s faster, sharper, and way better at following tone cues—especially for Pro users with memory and custom instructions turned on. Tip: Start your prompt with something like, “Use a confident, friendly tone that sounds like a small business owner who actually knows their stuff.” Still sounds flat? Ask it to “rewrite with more voice and edge.”

Your brand voice is now an asset—treat it like one - If you’ve ever looked at AI-generated content and thought, “This doesn’t sound like me at all,” you’re not alone. That’s the difference between using AI as a shortcut vs. using it as a smart extension of your brand.

Start documenting your tone, signature phrases, and the do’s and don’ts of how you communicate. Then train your AI tools to reflect it. You’ll not only save time—you’ll actually like the content you're putting out there.

Tool to Test

ContentIn - If LinkedIn content is your bottleneck, this one’s worth a look. ContentIn helps you create, plan, and track posts specifically for LinkedIn, with built-in AI writing support. Bonus: it shows you what’s performing so you can double down. Take a look: contentin.io

Strategic Move of the Week

Build Your 30-Day Visibility Engine with AI You don’t need to post daily. You need a repeatable system. Here’s one that works:

  1. Choose four weekly content themes. (Examples: Client Wins, Behind-the-Scenes, Quick Tips, Personal POV)
  2. Ask ChatGPT: “For each of these themes, write a LinkedIn post and suggest a visual concept. Use my voice and keep it valuable but human.”
  3. Schedule all four in one sitting.
  4. Refresh monthly with new angles.

This is how you stay visible without burning out.

Snippet Style: Before & After

Want to boost your chances of showing up in Google’s AI Overviews or Featured Snippets? Start writing your content in a way that answers common questions clearly and concisely. Here’s an example:

Before:

Building an email list is one of the best long-term strategies for small business growth. It gives you a direct line to your audience, helps you nurture leads, and boosts conversions with out relying on algorithms or ad spend.

After (snippet-ready):

The best way to build an email list is by offering a valuable lead magnet, such as a free guide or checklist, in exchange for a visitor's email address. This strategy helps small business owners grow their audience, nurture leads and increase conversions.

Why this works:

  • It answers the implied question up front
  • It’s brief, direct, and skimmable
  • It uses keyword-friendly language
  • It’s written in a format Google loves

Try this prompt in ChatGPT: “Rewrite this paragraph to match the tone and structure of a Google Featured Snippet. Keep it concise, clear, and useful for small business owners.”

One Last Thought

Being visible isn’t about shouting. It’s about clarity, confidence, and content that sounds like you. AI can help—but only if you lead the way.

See you next week.
