At All Kids Count, Wellpoint Texas Celebrates Inclusion, Community, and Whole-Person Health
Families from across North Texas came together at Circle R Ranch in Flower Mound for a day filled with health, joy, and inclusivity. For nearly a decade, we’ve been proud to stand alongside Love for Kids in supporting All Kids Count.
Now celebrating its 30th year, this annual event—created by the North Texas nonprofit Love for Kids—opens doors for individuals with disabilities who might not otherwise have access to inclusive activities. Guests enjoyed accessible horseback riding, hayrides, carnival games, face painting, arts and crafts, and much more.
“Wellpoint is focused on improving the whole-person health of Texas families and communities, and events like All Kids Count make a big, big difference in improving physical and mental health,” said Paula Perez, Community Relations Representative at Wellpoint. “There aren’t many events that are created with the whole family in mind.”
More than 900 people attended this year’s event, including and a team of dedicated Wellpoint employee volunteers. As the only insurer at the event, Wellpoint plays a vital role — offering health education and awareness to attendees and helping families understand the range of healthcare programs and options that can help that can help their children and loved ones with disabilities.
“We're a resource for families. We do not turn down anyone,” said Love for Kids President Sandy Huffman. “When families go to events, there are so many things their loved ones can't do if they have disabilities. At All Kids Count, family members can take part in all of these activities with others they can relate to. It's all about them.”
“Trying to figure out how to get your children and loved ones the help they need can be overwhelming,” said Margaret Rangel, Marketing & Project Manager at Love for Kids. “Having Wellpoint there is a very big deal, and they are there year after year after year.”
For Perez, the event holds personal meaning—she attended Love for Kids events as a child growing up in North Texas. Today, she helps ensure others have the same opportunity. This September, Wellpoint will be honored with the Best Sponsor Award from Love for Kids.
“All Kids Count is open to everybody,” she said. “Everything caters to people with disabilities.”
