Announcing this year's Green Soapbox Panelists

On Thursday, March 27, experts will share their expertise on how climate change impacts migration patterns and how this may shape the future of Chicago and the greater Midwest. Today, we at Delta Institute are pleased to announce this year's panelists will be:

“Delta Institute was founded on the idea that in order to address complex environmental challenges, such as climate-driven displacement, we need to come together and collaborate on these issues as a community with diverse perspectives,” said Bill Schleizer , CEO of Delta Institute. “Green Soapbox continues on in that tradition by bringing together experts in backgrounds from policy, NGOs, and research institutions so that we can explore regional solutions to challenges that impact millions around the globe, and even domestically within the US.”

An event organized by the Delta Emerging Leaders

Green Soapbox was first organized by the Delta Emerging Leaders associate board to bring a spotlight to important climate issues impacting our local community. It has a longstanding history of discussing issues on the cutting edge of sustainability, innovation, and climate justice. This year's event will be the 12th time we hosted Green Soapbox. Delta Institute is looking for passionate, highly motivated candidates to join our Board of Directors. If you - or someone you know - is ready to make a commitment to advocating for a more resilient, equitable, and sustainable Midwest, please consider nominating them to join our governing Board of Directors.

About the opportunity. Our Board of Directors support and advance our mission by helping provide strategic direction, leadership, and ambassadorship for our our work. Members of the board volunteer their time by serving up to two 3-year terms. All Board members participate in at least one standing committee: Development, Finance, or Governance & Nominating. Committee meetings and full Board meetings are held quarterly. We are seeking candidates to reflect the diversity of communities we serve across the Midwest, as well as those with the expertise and background to support Delta Institute's agriculture, climate, water, and community development projects.

Candidates interested in being considered for the term beginning July 1, 2025, should apply by April 10, 2025Applications are ongoing and will rollover for future consideration as well.

Kicking off at Green Soapbox on March 27, 2025, interested candidates can apply to join the "DELs" to serve one-year renewable terms beginning July 1, 2025.
