Okay, with that out of the way, let's reflect on an actioned packed first half of the year and look ahead at (some) of what’s to come...

🎶 We've Been Everywhere Man

One thing is for sure, nothing beats hitting the road and getting to interact with our community in person. From our first company-wide meeting in Edinburgh to conventions, pop-up pubs, tournaments, awards, and training camps, it's been nonstop action and does not appear to be slowing down.

Ferdinand Collective Chooses PlayerData

The Ferdinands are one of the most iconic families in British football. They know firsthand how challenging it is to reach the pinnacle of the sport. They also know the game can change lives for the better regardless of the level you reach as a player. With the Ferdinand Collective, they are providing players an alternative path to stay in the game through a variety of member clubs. Central to this is the concept of empowering the player and building the person. As such, the Ferdinands are deploying PlayerData's GPS technology across several of their member clubs. This speaks to the family's unwavering commitment to providing athletes with the proper tools to reach their full potential.

In The Shadows

The work behind a winning program often goes unseen, but that doesn’t mean it goes unfelt. This spring, we launched our 'In the Shadows' series to explore the inner workings of teams across levels, geographies, and sports — highlighting the quiet commitment to performance. Groundbreaking Indoor Product

We've officially brought to market a revolutionary portable Local Positioning System (LPS). This is a significant advancement in the space. It can be set up easily, quickly, and efficiently and allows teams to track players in field or court sports indoors without needing access to an outdoor GPS satellite signal. Wigan Athletic FC became one of the first organizations to use the tech, giving them continuity and consistency in tracking throughout the entire year.

The Campus: Off-Season Training

Dan Lawrence is one of the top minds in human performance. Last month, Premier League, Ligue 1, and international football stars Ryan Sessegnon and Angel Gomes spent two weeks training with Lawrence at The Campus in Portugal. Fittingly, the trio used PlayerData throughout their time together to ensure proper optimization.

National Academic Camp 🏈

Davidson College head football coach Saj Thakkar is known for building high academic, high character, and high performance teams. Every summer, Thakkar hosts the National Academic Camp to give prospects the opportunity to shine in front of coaches from the nation's top institutions. This year, we joined Davidson for the camp, outfitting over 200 players with our tech. This was a great opportunity for our team to get hands on experience 'eating our own dog food.' And, good news, it went extremely smoothly. We had no problems tracking 200+ players at once!

World Congress on Science and Soccer

Last month, soccer researchers, practitioners, and experts from all over the world descended upon Glasgow for WCSS CONGRESS. During the event, Dhruv Seshadri, PhD and Hannah Paton delivered an applied workshop. They shared insights from the work Lehigh University has been doing with their female college soccer athletes and how Dhruv's department utilizes PlayerData in collaboration with Lehigh athletics. They also dove into the FIFA Quality validation process and how this ties into Dhruv's work with the Sports Tech Research Network (STRN). STRN provides athletic programs with guidelines on how to assess sport technologies and providers, which we encourage you to view HERE.
