Behind the Canvas – Stories of Creativity from Our Artists

Art is more than just paint on a canvas or pixels on a screen, it is a journey, a story, a connection between the artist and the world. At Charity Art Gallery, we love sharing the personal experiences and inspirations that drive our talented artists. This week, we dive into the unique paths of three creatives: Sara Victoria Sandberg, Elahe Jalili, and Alex Colard.

Sara Victoria Sandberg: A Full Circle Moment

"I went to boarding school in Sigtuna for three years, graduating in 1992. Over 30 years later, in 2024, after living abroad for many years and rarely returning, I held a successful solo exhibition in this beautiful little town. If only I had known back in the day that the same place would welcome me back but now as an artist, so many years later. Life has a way of taking unexpected turns!"

Sara’s journey from student to celebrated artist is a testament to how art can bring us full circle, connecting us to places we once knew in an entirely new way.

Elahe Jalili: Nature as Inspiration

"My landscape paintings aim to inspire a deep love of nature in people, with the use of light playing a central role in my work. Participating in the Charity Art Expo has been one of the greatest honors in my art journey. It allowed me to contribute to a meaningful cause while sharing my passion for art and nature."

For Elahe, light is more than just a visual element; it’s a symbol of hope and connection. Through her work, she invites viewers to experience the natural world in a new and profound way.

Alex Colard: The Entrepreneurial Journey

"When I started my art business in 2017, I sold 30 boat prints at 500 SEK each in just three months. I showed my friends and family the value of my work, and now, years later, I have sold more than 140 artworks, it’s my full-time career!"

Alex’s journey highlights the importance of persistence, belief in one’s work, and building a supportive community that values art.
