The Beyond is HERE...

For more than 20 years now, Pillar has been at the forefront of agile. We embraced pairing, test driven development, and the practices and values of the agile manifesto before they were well-known or widespread. We lived them and breathed them and evangelized them across our organization and across our clients.

We transformed ourselves and those with whom we worked, turning old, bloated departments into lean, driven, product-making machines. We showed our clients what the future could be like — by ushering them into it, helping them realize what they could truly accomplish if only they could push the old methods out of the way.

Agile is in our blood, and it always will be. We will forever adhere to the values and practices of agile software development. Today the tech industry is going through another tectonic shift — it’s no longer just about websites, or e-commerce, or even apps on your phone. It’s about a programmable world at your fingertips, one riddled with smart devices and imbued with ambient intelligence.

From farms to factories, from offices to automobiles, the world is coming alive with connected devices powered by software. To play in this space requires a new suite of tools — agile development paired with user-centered product design, data analytics, media automation, content creation, embedded software development, and more — all fused into a single, cohesive approach to delivering world-class digital experiences, and all of it built on the bedrock of craftsman-quality software.

We’ve elevated our ability to execute on Digital Experience projects, expanding our skills, augmenting our team, and weaving these disparate practices together into something entirely new: DX.

With our approach to Digital Experience, we have eliminated the handoffs and fused together formerly-separate functions into a single, cohesive team. Design is informed by technology, and technology driven by design.

Because, at the dawn of the era of the Internet of Things, that’s what it’s going to take. When we talk of “Agile and Beyond,” know this: The Beyond is here. Now. All around us.
