Beyond Hope Project: Just Turn the Knob
Opening Reflection: The Hallway We All Walk
You’re not broken.
Even when it feels like you’re standing alone in a long hallway—staring at a row of doors, each one padlocked shut—you are not broken.
Most of us don’t struggle with walking up to the first door.
We’re curious enough.
We reach for the handle.
We give it a jiggle, testing whether it’ll let us through.
And if it feels safe, we might even take a step inside.
But here’s what I’ve learned:
We often walk up to those doors already convinced we know what’s waiting behind them.
We bring our past with us like a script and let fear write the next scene before it even unfolds.
Personal Reflection: When I Started Checking the Locks
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stared down those doors in my own life—especially over the past few years.
Big scary doors with words like “cancer,” “change,” or “unknown” scribbled across the front.
At first, I was terrified.
It felt like every door I approached had some kind of warning label taped to it.
But slowly, something started to shift.
I realized I was the one labeling those doors.
I was the one assuming pain, preparing for disappointment, predicting the worst—when what was actually waiting for me was purpose, connection, and a new kind of peace.
So I started doing the work.
Not to force the doors open—but to show up with expectation, not hesitation.
To walk toward them as the version of myself I hoped was waiting on the other side.
Shift in Perspective: Expect Good Things
Here’s the deal:
If transformation is what you’re after, you have to show up differently.
You can’t keep reaching for the next chapter while clinging to the fears of the last one.
You’ve got to walk up to each door—not with dread, but with belief in what’s possible.
If you want healing, picture the healed you standing on the other side.
If you want joy, embody the feeling of already having it.
Because this life?
It’s an adventure.
And yes, it can be scary—but it’s also beautiful.
Power-Up Challenge: One Door, One Step
This week, think about the door you’ve been avoiding.
What’s the story you’ve already told yourself about it?
What would happen if you let that story go?
What if you expected something good instead of assuming the worst?
You don’t need to kick the door down.
You just need to try the handle.
Because here’s the truth:
The thing you’ve been hoping for?
It’s already here.
It’s always been here.
The only thing standing in the way…
Is whether or not you’ll turn the knob.
You’ve got this.
