US staffing hours bounce back after July 4th

In the first week back after the Fourth of July, both US and commercial staffing hours remained at 2024 levels, suggesting this trend was more than just a holiday anomaly. Commercial hours continue to demonstrate resilience in spite of macroeconomic factors, and that strength has continued to buoy the overall staffing index. Professional hours were not able to maintain 2024 levels, with a current year-over-year gap of 3%, but other than last week, that is still the smallest gap of the year.

Job opportunities are increasing for high school and trade school grads

After peaking in 2022, fewer US jobs require a Bachelor's Degree in recent years. And jobs requiring a high school degree make up a greater percentage of available opportunities as reflected in Bullhorn’s Market IQ database. This aligns with a recent survey by the American Staffing Association, which found 1/3 of Americans would recommend trade school to high school graduates rather than college.
