Living with anxiety is akin to having an unwelcome guest who overstays their welcome, lurking in the shadows of your mind, waiting to pounce at the slightest hint of vulnerability. It's a persistent companion, weaving its way through the fabric of your daily life, casting a shadow over your brightest moments. My journey through the quagmire of anxious thoughts began in the quiet, unsuspecting moments of life, where suddenly, like a gust of wind, anxiety would sweep in, leaving a trail of chaos in its wake. From health scares that morphed into mountains from molehills to financial strains that seemed insurmountable, my life felt like a constant battle against an invisible foe.

This battle was not just against fleeting moments of panic but an ongoing war that seeped into various aspects of my existence. Parenthood, with its joys and challenges, amplified my fears, turning every decision into a potential misstep. My interests, which once served as a refuge, now became sources of stress, tinged with self-doubt and what-ifs. The shadows of past experiences, like adverse reactions to medication or financial pitfalls, lingered long after, fueling a cycle of worry that seemed endless.

In the midst of chaos, each stroke of the brush is a whisper of hope, painting over the shadows of anxiety with colors of strength and peace.

Yet, amid this turmoil, a flicker of hope emerged, casting a light on a path previously obscured. This journey of coping wasn't about eradicating anxiety; that would be akin to chasing the horizon. Instead, it became about learning to coexist with my unwelcome companion, finding strategies to lessen its grip on me. Through trial and error, moments of despair, and glimmers of success, I began to carve out spaces of peace amidst the chaos.

One such sanctuary emerged through the bristles of a paintbrush and the stroke of colors on canvas. Painting, an activity I stumbled upon in my quest for tranquility, became a form of meditation. Each stroke was a step away from the tendrils of anxiety, grounding me in the present, quieting the cacophony of worries. In the solitude of my art, I found a refuge, a momentary escape that offered respite and perspective.

This personal revolution was not solitary. Alongside the silent whispers of paint, the guidance of professionals who offered tools and strategies to navigate the stormy waters of anxiety was invaluable. They were the lighthouses in the fog, guiding me towards a semblance of peace, teaching me the importance of mindfulness, and the power of returning to childhood passions to find joy in simplicity.

The quest for stillness in a tumultuous world is universal, a shared journey among those of us grappling with the specters of our minds. It's a reminder that peace often lies in the small moments, in the brushstrokes of life that paint our individual canvases. Engaging in activities that anchor us to the present, seeking professional guidance, and embracing the practices of mindfulness are beacons of hope on this journey.

So, to you who might be fighting a similar battle, know that you are not alone. Your anxiety, though a formidable adversary, does not define you. Through the storm, there are havens to be found—sometimes in the most unexpected of places. It's a journey of embracing the chaos, finding your brushstrokes of peace, and painting your canvas with the colors of resilience, hope, and strength.

I find listening to Christian messages and music to be great medicine for my physical, mental, and spiritual areas of life. I think rest is a prerequisite for recovery… physical rest >> physical recovery mental rest >> mental recovery spiritual rest >> spiritual recovery I pray these bullet points hit the bullseye with you like they did with me. RF 👍🙏 •A moment of patience can save us a lifetime of regrets. •We should think before we speak… especially when the other person speaks before they think! •We can’t let impatient people turn us into them… we should let our patience turn them into us and turn them towards God. •We can’t let a closed-minded person close our mind about them.
