HEY STRANGER

I've had a lot of questions!

I'm not kidding, this isn't one of those 'loads of people have been asking me, so here's the gossip' kinda thing!  (When we all know that actually nobody gives a flying fuck and it's just a marketing ploy!)

Turns out there really are lots of folks genuinely interested to hear what's going on in my world as I've sort of fallen off the edge of the world this year!

You'll be pleased to know I'm still here!

LIFE

Cattywampus - something that is in disarray, going badly, awkwardly, or in the wrong direction!  

This is basically a great way to sum up the general status of how life has been, and continues to be!

Quite literally, nothing has gone to plan this year, in fact, I'd go so far as to say it's pretty much been a total write off!

KIDS

As a parent, all you want to do is 'make it all better' for your children when they are suffering in any way, right?

There's only so much you can do when it comes to mental health and the inner demons which torment individuals.

Supporting my children, particularly my daughter, has been my full time priority as she continues to be in crisis.

ME

ME

Since experiencing the horror that was a mental breakdown earlier in the year, I'm in a better place; albeit with some very bad days sometimes.

My physicial health however is a different story as my 'old lady back' has decided to ramp things up considerably this year, to the point that I now need surgery; a prospect I am obviously dreading!

I'm hanging in there, juggling lots of things, in pain constantly and feeling pretty useless a lot of the time.

I have been practising (for probably the first time in my entire life) the art of self care. 

Relaxing, watching TV, sitting around chatting and not doing much of anything.  Allowing my mind and body the opportunity to replenish. 

BUSINESS

Amidst everything, I still need to earn money to pay the mortgage and the rapidly increasing everyday living costs that we all have.

When I can work, I throw every ounce of energy into what I'm doing.  But when my kids need me or my own mental/physical health is not so great, I have no other choice than to down tools and admit defeat.

The relaunch and rebrand of 'the wow effect' hasn't progressed as quickly as I had hoped.

I'm loving representing FSB as a membership advisor and helping business owners.

My UW business is still ticking over and providing me an income each month, even though I've not actively done anything for ages! 

I often find my happy place at my sewing machine getting my craft on!

I'm trying to find the time to work my way through the mountains of fabric I have amassed since my sewing passion began and have a few new items to update my Etsy store with.

I'm still bubbling away in the background!

I'M PLANNING ON COMING BACK WITH A BANG!

So,  although I've been quite a lot quieter than you've probably ever known me to be, I am still here, plodding along, keeping myself busy, working on some very cool new services for the relaunch of my business, and generally keeping myself out of mischief.  

Which I'm aware may sound a little dull, but it's actually just what I need to get by right now as I can only get through by taking one day and night at a time.  

I've taken the pressure off of myself, taken my foot off the gas. Rather than being the Grand Prix racer I was, I'm more of a slow, plodding, Sunday afternoon driver at the moment!

MEET CALI

Our new addition to the family!

She has me wrapped around every adorable little paw and is the cutest puppy ever!

Technically she belongs to my daughter and I am officially Nanny to this little princess!

And that's about all of it! Well, there is actually more but I'm saving some stuff for another time; watch this space and look after yourself (it's actually quite nice!)
