Chroma Launches Integrated Test System for Automotive Signal and Power
Purpose-built for advanced car display specifications and extreme power conditions
As the automotive display market continue to grow, smart vehicles are increasingly equipped with multiple displays—from instrument clusters and infotainment systems to center consoles, rearview mirrors, and heads-up displays. The trend toward "multi-screen cars" is becoming more pronounced, with a variety of display signal formats dictated by different automakers, OEMs, and use cases. To meet the diverse and evolving test requirements this brings along, Chroma introduces the all-new 27016 Integration Tester. This compact platform supports FPD-Link™, GMSL™, and APIX® signal interfaces and includes programmable power output. By integrating software, hardware, and firmware into a single unit, the 27016 can test multiple signal sources while simulating extreme power conditions, helping identify vulnerabilities and greatly improving product quality.
The Chroma 27016 Integration Tester features a dual-slot architecture that allows independent and simultaneous operation of signal interface modules (A27016x Series) and power modules (A67390x Series) for testing and analysis. Its compact A4-sized footprint makes it portable and adaptable to various environments, including R&D labs, production lines, and service centers. The tester offers multiple flexible control methods to meet different application needs. When used as a standalone unit, it can be connected to a PC via Ethernet for full-featured control. For expanded functionality, multiple systems can be connected together. In automated production environments, the Smart I/O port enables seamless handshake and logistics control with PLC systems. A USB port is also provided for firmware and image file updates. In addition, the 27016 supports most commercially available infrared (IR) remote controllers, allowing users to define custom control keys for personalized and convenient remote operation.
