Cloud Beginner Friendly Projects

Cloud Beginner Friendly Projects

Dear Cyberians/Cloudians

If you are new to cloud computing and eager to get hands-on experience, you are in the right place.

Tried my hands on some labs on AWS last week and wanted to share.

In this article, we'll walk you through 5 beginner-friendly cloud projects that'll help you build a strong foundation in cloud computing.

Project 1: Creating Users and Groups in AWS IAM

AWS IAM (Identity and Access Management) is for managing access to your AWS resources. Here is how to create users and groups, and assign permissions to them.

1. Search for IAM in the console

2. Click on "Users" and then "Create user".

3. Enter the user details and click "Create user".

4. Create a new group by clicking on "Groups" and then "Create group".

5. Add the user to the group by clicking on "Actions" and then "Add user to group".

Project 2: Assigning Policies in AWS IAM

Policies are a crucial aspect of AWS IAM, as they define the permissions for your users and groups.

1. Log in to the AWS Management Console.

2. Navigate to the IAM dashboard.

3. Click on "Policies" and then "Create policy".

4. Choose the policy type and click "Create policy".

5. Attach the policy to a user or group by clicking on "Actions" and then "Attach policy".

Project 3: Hosting a Static Website with AWS S3

AWS S3 (Simple Storage Service) is a great way to host static websites. You'll need to create an S3 bucket, upload your website files, and configure the bucket for website hosting.

1. In the AWS Management Console.

2. Navigate to the S3 dashboard.

3. Click on "Create bucket" and enter the bucket details.

4. Upload your website files to the bucket by clicking on "Upload".

5. Configure the bucket for website hosting by clicking on "Properties" and then "Static website hosting"
