The UK's first SF6-free gas-insulated transmission substation is under construction

In a first for the UK, high-voltage SF6-free switchgear is being installed at our new Bengeworth Road substation, part of the £1 billion London Power Tunnels 2 project.

This is a major milestone in the journey to replace SF6 – a greenhouse gas 24,300 times more potent than CO2 - with greener alternatives.

The UK’s biggest EV battery factory is set to open in 2026

A multi-million pound electrical engineering project is underway to connect the biggest battery factory in the country to the grid.

Due to open in 2026, the factory aims to supply almost half of the batteries needed by the UK’s automotive industry by the early 2030s and create 4,000 green tech jobs.

Increased competition in flexibility markets leads to savings on the energy system

The National Grid Distribution System Operator (DSO) has awarded 525 flexibility trades in its UK regions, procuring over 18GWh of availability. Increased competition in local flexibility markets can deliver significant savings as they incentivise consumers to change their energy demand or generation behaviour at times when the energy system is most in demand

RG&E's subcontractor from TEXAS installing smart GAS Meters in Rochester NY? Unannounced entering homes in Oct-Nov2024.How secure is the flow/reporting/security of GAS? Asking for a friend ....🎤BOOM Are they from NYSEG or Avangrid or.....? #Security101 the RG&E gas emergency dept Reps think I'm crazy....but they said they are not trained to *know* what's going on in the Field! Reporting this to the Commission and my friends in High Places
