Digital Journey - 2nd stop
The second stop of our Digital Journey saw us experiencing real applications of digitization across the iconic Silicon Valley.
The companies we visited succeeded in integrating and optimizing the various aspects of digitalization, from A.I. to big data, and in creating new business models, with unimaginable economic and financial benefits and allowing tremendous innovation in areas where it would have been inconceivable earlier.
The pervasiveness of digital transformation, often improperly identified only as IOT, actually has a much greater impact in more complex spheres: it is an enabler of an exponential improvement of processes, connecting customers and suppliers in an integrated and systemic process. We had the opportunity to see first-hand the cultural and organizational changes required for a successful implementation of this digital transformation, and to appreciate how much wider and deeper of an ingredient it is than the mere technical approach. New competences are required and they must be put to work in an environment that is completely different from the traditional company organization.
Silicon Valley and California continue to be the pioneers of the incubation and acceleration of business ideas: they have been able to engineer the process of innovation by creating a methodology for the development of ideas and by shaping the perfect ecosystem where A.I. becomes applicable solutions. The accomplishments in these areas are truly amazing!
