Employee Spotlight: Lee Gabay - Software Engineer

Can you share a bit about your background and what led you to Carbyne?

My name is Lee Gaby. I’m married to Yuval, and we have one child. I studied Computer Science at Bar-Ilan University and spent 4.5 years working in a military technology company before joining Carbyne, where I’ve been for the past 2.5 years.

As a software developer, we have countless career opportunities, but my true passion lies in contributing to something meaningful—work that makes a difference, improves the world, and saves lives. From the moment I heard about Carbyne's mission and goals, I knew this was the place I wanted to be. The company’s dedication to transforming emergency response systems and positively impacting lives worldwide immediately caught my attention and inspired me to join the team.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Carbyne?

I love working with a team of exceptionally skilled developers, where we constantly have opportunities to learn from one another and grow together. Our team has worked on multiple new products, giving us the chance to build innovative systems, explore new technologies, and push the boundaries of what we can achieve in coding. What I find most fulfilling is knowing that my work directly impacts the world and reinforces the idea that every life matters. Contributing to solutions that make a real difference in people's lives is what inspires me every day.

Can you highlight a specific accomplishment or project you're particularly proud of?

One project I’m particularly proud of is the Carbyne-Connect application, which we built entirely from scratch—from the initial design to the final delivery. As full-stack developers, we worked on both the frontend and backend, tackling every aspect of the development process. Despite a tight deadline and high expectations, we successfully delivered an incredible product. It was a true team effort, and seeing it come to life was an incredibly rewarding experience.

What keeps you motivated, and who or what inspires you?

What keeps me motivated is knowing that the work we do at Carbyne truly makes a difference. I’m inspired by the incredible team I get to work with every day—they’re not just talented but deeply committed to our mission. Waking up each morning and reminding myself of the meaningful impact we’re making drives my passion and keeps me focused. Knowing that our efforts save lives and make every person count is the ultimate source of inspiration.

What advice do you have for your colleagues to succeed and enjoy their work?

My advice is to find work you’re truly passionate about—something that excites and motivates you every day.Stay curious, keep learning, and actively seek out opportunities to make an impact in your own unique way. When you align your work with your passions and take ownership of your growth, success and enjoyment naturally follow.
