Expand to Play Big: 3 Inner Upgrades Every Coach Needs to Win Big and Leave a Legacy

Let’s be real. Most coaches (specifically coaches of color) aren’t playing small because they lack talent. They’re playing small because they haven’t been taught how to expand with intention, presence, and power.

The marketplace rewards visibility, not just value. And too often, the most brilliant coaches get overlooked, underpaid, and overwhelmed.

This Upcoming Friday, I’ll be sharing the truth behind this dilemma—and what to do about it—in my session at Craft of Coaching titled: “Expand to Play Big: The 3 Inner Upgrades Every Coach of Color Needs to Win Big & Leave a Legacy.”

But I want to give you a sneak peek—because this message is too important to wait.

THE PROBLEM

You can’t expand your business if you don’t first expand your presence.

I’ve coached thousands of professionals—Fortune 100 execs, tech leaders, professional athletes, artists, celebrities, and rising star entrepreneurs—and I can tell you with certainty:

Your business will rarely grow beyond the level of presence you carry.

Not just how you look. But how you lead. Not just how you sound. But how you stand—in your story, in your value, in your voice.

THE 3 INNER UPGRADES TO PLAY BIGGER

Here’s what I’ll be breaking down in the room Friday—and what I teach inside my Presence Empire™.

Each upgrade is tied to one word: Gravitas. Conviction. Clarity.

Let’s unpack each:

1. GRAVITAS: Own Your Voice

If your presence doesn’t grab the room before your credentials do… you’re losing ground.

Gravitas is what makes people lean in. It’s the quiet confidence that says, “I belong here”—even when the world says otherwise.

Ask yourself: Are you using your voice… or waiting for permission?

Try this: Craft a Power Statement. One sentence that captures your essence, who you serve, and the transformation you create.

2. CONVICTION: Sell the Transformation, Not the Time

Undercharging isn’t a strategy. It’s a signal.

Conviction is knowing that your coaching isn’t a service—it’s a solution. A shift. A catalyst.

Ask yourself: Are you selling coaching hours… or client outcomes?

Try this: Use the “Legacy Lens.” Ask: If your work disappeared tomorrow, who would feel it? And how would their lives be impacted?

3. CLARITY: Build an Empire, Not Just a Practice

Clarity creates cash, consistency, and clients.

If your offer is fuzzy, your brand forgettable, or your message buried under buzzwords—you’re not building a business. You’re babysitting a side hustle.

Ask yourself: Do people know what you do in 10 seconds or less?

Try this: Map your Empire:

  • What’s your Signature Talk?
  • What’s your Signature Offer?
  • What’s your Scalable System?

HERE’S YOUR CALL TO ACTION

If any of this resonated, it’s not by accident. It’s your reminder that you’re not meant to play small.

Ask yourself:

  • Where am I muting my voice?
  • Where am I minimizing my value?
  • Where am I unclear about my next level?

Then take the first step. Whether you're refining your message, elevating your offer, or reclaiming your space—it all begins with presence.

And if you need someone in your corner who knows how to help you expand with strategy, soul, and structure—I’m here for that work. I help coaches own the room, elevate their brand, and build coaching empires that last.

Your legacy won’t build itself. But with the right presence, it will become undeniable.

Love this message, Chris. So many coaches have the skill but not the visibility, and you’re right, presence matters. Appreciate you sharing real steps to help others rise and lead with impact.

Thank you! For me, the shift was realizing that sharing my voice isn’t about ego it’s about service. When I saw visibility as a way to help more people, stepping up felt natural. How about you?
