Not a ‘fable’ ....

Not a ‘fable’ ....

... because some insights are better served raw. No packaging, no characters, no role-plays needed. Some insights are already in their most simplified, elementary form!

And what I am going to write, I believe, is one of them.

This insight is born of a team workshop that is building a vision, a goal - as far as the pole star, as tall as the Himalayas.

It's been easy to observe the dreamers flying way up, oblivious to ground reality. The realists and nay-sayers silently smirking at the futility of the exercise, overwhelmed with the daily drudgery.

And this brings me to clarify and explain the true features of a human “mind”. An understanding that should help heads fly, while feet rooted in the ground. It should make us all grow. Taller .. literally!

The only difference between ‘mind’ ( the ‘vision’) and body (the one that will do the ‘execution’) is that:

Unlike the body, the mind does not have to follow the rules of time and space. It can cover years in a nano-second. It can enjoy one moment from past for an hour. It can travel to moon and back in a blink.

So for as many quotes, wise-saying, stories one has ever heard - “concentrate your mind and you can achieve anything”, as many are found that advocate to “dream up”, “dream big”, “get out of the box”.

Each one of these suggestions is a defect in itself and not a feature. The real feature of the Mind is its independence from the constraints of time-space.

This means the real feature of the mind is its “elasticity”.

Translated to a “Visioning” exercise, making a lofty vision executable, turns to a simple routine - “Look at the goal far away. Take one step. Pause. Look at the goal again - on the right path ?? (goal might have moved), take one more step. Repeat !”

And yes, you need to dream up. And yet you need to concentrate on that step you are about to take.

A duality, unified by a rhythmic repeating pattern!

This is thought provoking Bibs. The conflict and relationship between body and mind has been always complex but I guess mind is always the winner . It can make or break....
