Faces of the Future: Meet Our 2025 Summer Interns
In celebration of National Intern Day, we’re excited to introduce the next generation of engineers, analysts, and innovators—our 2025 summer interns.
This year, we welcomed nearly 60 interns from more than 30 universities, working across 15 office locations in structural engineering, diagnostics, and digital practice. They brought sharp minds, fresh perspectives, and a shared enthusiasm for learning.
You’ll find plenty of impressive credentials and technical interests among this group, but you’ll also find curiosity, collaboration, and a strong sense of purpose. From job site visits to team-wide design sessions, they embraced hands-on learning and cross-disciplinary problem solving alongside our teams.
Here’s a closer look at a few of the people shaping the future of our industry:
Maryam Altaweel Diagnostics Intern | Kansas City
“I’m a Ph.D. candidate in Architecture at the University of Kansas, where my research focuses on energy efficiency in buildings. I’m also a mom, artist, and passionate about design and creativity. It’s been fulfilling to bring that mindset to my internship.”
Jordan Brazill Structural Intern | Las Vegas
“I’m entering my fourth year at UC San Diego in a combined B.S./M.S. program in Structural Engineering. Outside of work, I love video games, snowboarding, surfing, and making music. I also love dogs—especially my German Shepherd, Kona!”
Daraja Brown Structures Intern | Atlanta
“I recently completed my B.S. in Civil Engineering from Georgia Tech and will be starting my master’s in Structural Engineering, Mechanics, and Materials this fall. I’m excited to keep connecting with people across the firm.”
Miles Davis Structures Intern | Washington, DC
“I recently graduated from Howard University with a degree in Civil Engineering and am now pursuing my master’s at Johns Hopkins University. It’s been an exciting opportunity to apply what I’ve learned in the field.”
Tahmures Ghiyasi AI Developer Intern | New York City
“I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Land-Use Planning, Management, and Design at Texas Tech University, with research focused on structural systems, computational design, and human-robot collaboration. It’s exciting to contribute to innovative work happening here.”
Christopher Good Diagnostics Intern | Washington, DC
“I’m currently pursuing a master’s in Structural Engineering at Virginia Tech, after earning my B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Lafayette College. It’s been exciting to see real-world applications of what we study in school.”
Abraham Guerrero Structural Intern | Austin
“I earned my B.S. in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University (Wreck ’Em!) and will begin my M.S. in Structural Engineering at the University of Oklahoma this fall. One of the highlights this summer has been how approachable and collaborative everyone is—whether you're jumping into a project or just having a conversation.”
Verahan Gugarooban Diagnostics Intern | New York City
“I’m from Toronto and pursuing a Bachelor of Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo, with plans to graduate in 2027. This was my first time in New York City, and the site visits were a highlight—I learned so much about conducting thorough inspections while getting to explore neighborhoods I’d never seen before. It’s been a valuable experience applying what I’ve learned in the classroom to real-world diagnostics work.”
Pratik Mutha Structural Intern | San Diego
“Interning at Walter P Moore has given me a stronger sense of responsibility than I’ve ever felt before. Being trusted to contribute to real projects, learning from incredibly skilled engineers, and working alongside such a supportive team has made this experience truly meaningful.”
Tyler Ruth Structural Intern | Washington, DC
“I’m entering my fifth year at Penn State in an integrated B.A./M.A. program in Architectural Engineering, with a focus on structural. It’s been great to see the variety of backgrounds and perspectives among the interns this summer.”
Alejandra Yanez Sanchez Traffic Intern | El Paso
“I’m a senior studying Civil Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso and spent the summer interning in the El Paso office. This experience has helped me believe in my abilities and recognize that I can truly contribute to a team. I’ve learned that asking questions is one of the best ways to grow, and I’ve especially appreciated the chance to collaborate with colleagues across different offices and backgrounds.”
Putri Widyadhana Structures Intern | New York City
“I’m working toward my M.S. in Civil Engineering and Engineering Mechanics at Columbia University, with a concentration in structural engineering. I’ve enjoyed collaborating with this team and learning from their expertise.”
Michelle Wong Structural Intern | New York City
“I’m pursuing an M.S. in Architectural Engineering at Penn State, after earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from SUNY New Paltz—so this internship has been an exciting shift into the world of structures. What stood out most was the supportive culture at Walter P Moore. I never hesitated to ask questions, and the feedback I received from my supervisors helped me grow with confidence.”
Anita Wu Diagnostics Intern | New York City
“I’m currently pursuing my Master of Architecture at the University of Waterloo. Outside of work, I’m passionate about music, books, and film—Florence + the Machine and London Grammar are longtime favorites. This internship has pushed me outside my comfort zone in the best way, and I’m leaving it feeling more confident and prepared to take on the challenges ahead.”
Whether they’re refining their engineering skills, building diagnostics expertise, or exploring new design technologies, our interns are already making a mark—and we’re proud to support their journey.
Here’s to the faces of the future.
