Facts about Dil Bechara

Dil Bechara poster

Dil Bechara released on Disney+Hotstar on the 24th of July and our Indian audience has shown an overwhelming response like never before. If you guys have watched the film, one could experience the epitome of Sushant sir's acting. Although the movie's genre was a rom-com, this time comedy was filled with pain and emotion. All we could draw from the movie was how parallel it is with Sushant Singh Rajput's life. It seemed as if this movie was meant to cast him.

It's been 4 days since Dil Bechara has been released and it has already created history. If there are some movie buffs out there, then they would surely know what IMDb is. For the people who don't know and are reading this, it's an online internet movie database where movies/TV shows/web-series are ranked on a scale of 1-10 not by professional critics but by the viewers who watch these like you and me. People even refer IMDb ratings before opting for a movie to watch and it's reliable most of the time. IMDb even has different curated lists like "top 250", "top 1000" and for a movie to be listed in these, it needs to have at least 25,000 votes. Coming back to Dil Bechara, since it's release it has garnered close to 83,000 votes and has achieved a rating of 9.4 attaining a position of 1 in the "top 250" and "top 1000" dethroning "Shawshank Redemption" which has a rating of 9.3 with 2.3M votes(please refer the screenshot). Although Dil Bechara would fall below Shawshank Redemption (most probably by tomorrow) because it's rating is declining consecutively but the benchmark that this movie has laid is history for Indian Cinema and would be remembered forever. Also, Dil Bechara is the first movie ever to get a perfect rating of 10 for the first 1000 voters that voted for it. Apart from this, it's trailer is the world's most liked trailer on YouTube with 10M likes surpassing the magnum opus Avengers Endgame's trailer.

I know all these facts and benchmarks are nothing compared to Sushant sir's life but I wanted to bid a farewell and hence wrote about it.

Thanks for reading!

Well written and nicely compiled :) However, when we come to think of it, we'd notice that in case the release of the movie wouldn't have coincided with the tragic demise of Sushant Singh Rajput, then film critics as well as the viewers would've described the movie as poor remake of a Hollywood classic, or something on those lines. If not, atleast the movie wouldn't have garnered the kind of appreciation it did, be it in terms of Sushant's acting and on-screen presence or the immaculate direction. This makes us wonder about the pretentious and unadjudicated environment of the Bollywood Film Industry. Nonetheless, loved how you made use of the platform to express your gratitude and appreciation towards the actor's last film. :))
