A Faculty - to share our experience
I think the most important aspect when you are called to talk or address as faculty is that they acknowledge your experience.
I have learnt one most important thing which is the speaker must try and make his or her ppt very point wise or specific and not a theory
Secondly, the most important fact for audience to be able to concentrate is please stick to 20 to 30 mins max, because they will not be able to focus on your efforts more than that time span. This is very crucial for you as a speaker because ..IT IS YOU WHO IS TRAVELLING PLACES , MAKING A PPT, DRESSING AND SHARING YOUR KNOWLEDGE.
Be specific to the audience. For Example- If you are addressing a clinician group , they are not interested in the test principle of the glycosylated hemoglobin but the how the methodology can affect the result, or the revised ranges as per the ADA guidelines or how now it is a diagnostic test and very important.
Please gauge the response of the audience, make an eye contact and speak. Do not just read your PPT slides because they know to read.
Finally to derive, I feel the audience must get some more value addition from your experiences and feel like inviting you again.
