He joins a stellar line up of keynote speakers and panellists that includes Arsenio Dominguez, Secretary-General, IMO; Takeshi Hashimoto, President and CEO of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL); and Regina Asariotis, Chief of the Trade Logistics Branch, Division on Technology and Logistics, UNCTAD, among many others.

General Sir Gwyn Jenkins is the latest is a long line of First Sea Lords to have graced the LISW Conference stage and his keynote speech will be eagerly listened to by the 750-strong audience as the shipping industry faces uncertain times geopolitically.

General Sir Gwyn Jenkins said “I am delighted to be invited to speak at LISW25. In this increasingly dangerous world of ours it is important that the Royal Navy continues to work closely with our maritime partners, protecting our nation – under, on, above, and from the sea to deter those who threaten our security.”

Welcoming the news, Sean Moloney, co-Founder and co-CEO of London International Shipping Week, said shipping’s role in propelling global trade is as important as ever in these uncertain times.

“The Royal Navy and the Merchant Marine have long enjoyed a close relationship and the support of the First Sea Lord at LISW25 only goes to underline that close bond,” he said.

Llewellyn Bankes-Hughes, co-Founder and co-CEO of London International Shipping Week, added: "With global security, tariffs and trade at the top of the international agenda – and US President Donald Trump in London during LISW25 – this hugely important Headline Conference will bring together governments, regulators, shipowners, investors, and innovators to discuss the key issues that are not only shaping global shipping right now but will continue to do so into the foreseeable future."
