Five Years With Eyes to the Horizon

I left my role at Backbone Media back in February of 2016 to launch a new project built from the same DNA, but with a unique approach. Jenny Taylor and Salomon took a bit of a leap when we pitched the idea of building rygr around the brand as our launch partner. We confirmed the deal that night at a wild industry dance party and a month later, on March 1, rygr was born. 

From there, we've learned so, so much. We've failed. But we've succeeded more often than not. I've had the opportunity to work with a collection of the most creative, driven, adventurous people I've ever encountered. We've partnered with amazing clients from global market leaders and scrappy startups. Fjällräven, Suunto, Norrøna Sport AS, Deuter USA, ORTOVOX, Backcountry, Orvis, and DAKINE just to name a few. 

Today's our fifth birthday. As I'm want to do, I've been looking to the horizon, focused on serving clients, recruiting, and planning the future of work at rygr. I didn't even notice the date until half the day was gone. But yesterday is important, because it's where we've learned what will power us tomorrow, and many more tomorrows down the line.

Thank you to everyone along the way who has contributed to making our business a success, and one that has been super fun (and challenging) to grow. Here's to sharing a skin track or a boat or a trail run for a lot of tomorrows to come.
