From Cocktails & Canapes to Hulk Juice

WOW! TIME FLIES WHEN YOU’RE HAVING FUN

So much so, I didn’t realise it was my 6 year business anniversary yesterday! It was social media that reminded me!

Prior to being introduced to Arbonne, I had a highly successful career in marketing and business consultancy. What I loved most was being able to be my own boss. In 1997, at the age of 27, I started my own agency with our own premises in the centre of Birmingham. I was really living the corporate high life, I had a fantastic team of 30 - launching and marketing amazing destinations and large multinational brands, winning awards along way.

I earned incredible money, drove around in a Porsche and spent most of my lunchtimes & evenings entertaining clients with many a cocktail & canapé’s. That’s how business was done in those days. 

However, life changes doesn't it! I was married and we wanted to start family, those 2 things weren’t necessarily going to work well together. Having a career with that much overhead, that much demand and children in tow wasn’t going to be easy to do. Many career Mums out there will know exactly what I mean. So, a few years later, after the birth of our second son, I knew things had to change.

So I created virtual company instead, utilising all of my skills and knowledge, and employed people on a freelance basis this time. I made more money and enjoyed more success than ever before. It gave me my first insight into having a business with less stress and without excessive overheads.

Fast forward.......

Another boy later, I went to an International Women's Day event, and was standing chatting in the lunch queue, when I was introduced to another income opportunity. I was massively sceptical as I have a very traditional corporate background, and thought business models like this were for people who couldn't get a job. However, I was open enough to take a look though and wasn’t expecting what I heard.....it blew my mind. The thing that related the most was the ability to create a recurring or residual income in time that was significant enough to replace what i had been earning in corporate.

During that time, my husband and I had started to get into property. We were investing and developing properties to then rent out and we successful built a multi-million pound property portfolio. This provides a residual, albeit static, income, with our tenants paying us on a monthly basis. Great as this is, it takes a huge amount of time and investment in the early days it came with tremendous risks as we are wholly dependent on the property market and economy.

Fast forward again and here comes Arbonne, a high quality, 40 year old Social Marketing business. No overheads, no employees and no risk!

The business models I used previously gave me the ability to have everything I had but I still needed to be present, and I still needed a tremendous amount of time and monetary investment.

Now this opportunity has a very low start up cost, I can help other people to create what i have created and therefore i am able to leverage my time. Working on something part time, which it was at the beginning, is now building a significant recurring residual asset based income, which can grow exponentially and not remain static - no glass ceiling!

It provides not only the ability to create business but one without overheads. YAY!!!

We’re also in the midst of a digital revolution and I am no longer restricted to local business I am able to build an income from a laptop or my smartphone around my many commitments and around my children from anywhere in the world. I can finally be a present Mum, showing them how to design their life as well as creating a legacy for them.

There are 2 real reasons why I jumped into Arbonne. One was to build an asset-based income and two to build a legacy for my children. It was an absolute no-brainer!

Aside from that what I didn’t realise is how the products would change my health, my skin and my life. I had been a pretty unhealthy, over-worked, career obsessed lady who always managed to put herself to the bottom of the pile when it came to self care. Now it’s a completely different story…. I drink green ‘Hulk Juice’ every day and help others to take control of their health through the incredible 30 days to healthy living programme as well as show them how to create an additional income around what they are currently doing. Transformational is an understatement … 

So so grateful to have been open minded enough to look at another way to create and income and live my life. Although we are taught at school to go to University, work hard for 40 odd years for someone else trading our time and then retiring with not enough money in our pensions…. It doesn’t have to be that way.
