From Curiosity to Community Impact – My MLSA Journey (Alpha to Gold)
"Except disappointment, never get disappointed." These words resonate deeply as I reflect on my incredible journey with the Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador (MLSA) program.
I am beyond grateful to share that I have officially graduated as a Microsoft Learn Student Ambassador Gold from Beta! .
Out of hundreds of Ambassadors among India, six were selected to Gold Milestone. I’m proud to be one of the few selected across India. But more than pride, I feel gratitude—towards every learner, mentor, and peer who made this possible.
🌱 How It All Began
Initially, I had little knowledge about MLSA. When my HoD encouraged me to explore opportunities to contribute to my department, I started my search. Fortunately, I was already part of a Microsoft community WhatsApp group, where I learned about the program. Without hesitation, I applied—and encouraged my friends to do the same. To my surprise and delight, I was selected! Sharing this moment with my sister Jeev , she told me, "God has rewarded you for your good deeds."
🚀 The Journey of Growth
My first event, Codcascade, was a great success within my college but, unfortunately, was not approved by Microsoft. As a newcomer, I wasn’t fully aware of the process, but through networking with fellow ambassadors, I gained valuable insights on how to host impactful events.
With this newfound knowledge, I organized my next event—"Cloud Security"—with Ram Praveen, along with the support of Jenina Angelin. As my passion grew, I founded the Microsoft Learn Student Community - SJCE, which became a platform for collaboration and innovation. This journey wouldn't have been possible without my incredible core team and most importantly, my pillar of support, Jeevitha. Your dedication helped us build a strong, thriving community.
✨ Expanding Horizons
Initially unaware of the benefits of being an MLSA, I was eager to learn. Attending the Ambassador event in Hyderabad hosted by Nandan was a turning point. Connecting with like-minded peers like Yash and Sumokh, I gained deeper insights into the opportunities available. With their encouragement, I claimed my Visual Studio subscription, completed my technical tasks, and advanced to BETA status.
At this stage, my journey gained momentum:
🔹 With the support of Jeevitha, I gained recognition in my college and connected with Karthi sir, who played a pivotal role in guiding me through impactful events.
🔹 A heartfelt thank you to Harun for accepting my invitation to host an event—it was insightful and immensely valuable for attendees.
🔹 Under Karthi sir’s mentorship, we achieved 100+ Azure certifications at our college and celebrated this milestone with Balaji Murugadoss and Mohammed Azar, whose presence and insights added immense value.
🔹 With Azar's help, we successfully planned an industry visit (IV) to Microsoft Bengaluru, a dream come true for many students. Thank you Karthi sir and Kalpana ma'am for your support.
🔹 I was honored to invite Snehal Gupta ma’am as a jury member for the Azure AI Innovation Hackathon, further elevating our learning experience.
🔹 Another unforgettable moment was our January 3rd IV, where I had the privilege of connecting with Lakshit—thank you, Mohammed Azar and Lakshit, for your valuable knowledge-sharing!
📜 Certifications & Skilling – Real Impact
To boost our community’s cloud skills, we launched Cloud Skills Challenges in:
✅ Azure Fundamentals
✅ Azure AI Fundamentals
✅ Azure Data Fundamentals
With guided mentorship and community motivation, I helped 50+ students get certified, resulting in 100+ Microsoft certifications across our campus. This significantly elevated the technical profile of St. Joseph’s Group of Institutions, enabling students to explore better internships, jobs, and projects.
💻 Flagship Events – 25+ Events, 1000+ Students
Also hosted more than 25 technical events, impacting over 1000 students. Some signature programs included:
✨ Azure AI Innovation Challenge
✨ GitHub Copilot Hands-on
✨ Power BI + ETL Pipelines
✨ Data Science with Azure Jupyter Notebooks
✨ Microsoft Copilot – AI for Everyone
These events weren't just checkboxes—they transformed passive learners into active creators, building projects, hosting sessions, and mentoring juniors.
🧳 Industry Visit to Microsoft – Turning Dreams into Direction
One of the most impactful initiatives was our industry visit to Microsoft Bengaluru. Organized through PEP and supported institutionally, it gave students real exposure to the tech world—offices, culture, and opportunities.
For many, it was their first step toward dreaming bigger—from students to future professionals.
We also invited Snehal Gupta ma’am as a jury member for our Azure AI Hackathon—raising the technical standard and credibility of our college events.
✍️ 50+ Technical Blogs – Shared Knowledge, Real Impact
As part of my effort to democratize knowledge, I authored over 50 technical blogs on Medium, covering topics such as:
🧠 RAG Pipelines & LangChain
🧠 Promptflow, Azure AI Foundry
🧠 Vision Transformers, WGANs
🧠 PII Masking with Presidio
🧠 Function Calling with Mistral7B
🧠 Google ADK Agents & Gemini Evaluation
These blogs became go-to guides for learners building final-year projects, preparing for interviews, and landing internships. Some even credited them for job offers—a humbling reward.
🛠️ GitHub Projects – 40+ Repositories for the Community
On GitHub, I contributed 40+ public repositories, such as:
🔹 Vision Transformers from Scratch
🔹 Advanced RAG Implementations
🔹 Gemini-based LLM Evaluation Pipelines
🔹 Function Calling APIs with Mistral

These weren’t just codebases—they were launchpads for others to innovate, build, and scale real solutions.
👥 Global Networking – Learning from the Best
This journey was shaped and inspired by incredible global leaders and MVPs:
🌍 Lee Stott ,Anthony Byansi , Bruno Capuano Lakshit Pant Pablo Veramendi
🌍 Harun & Azar – For elevating our events with their presence and knowledge
Their guidance created a bridge between student potential and real-world excellence.
🌐 MVP Summit & Global Networking – Connecting with Changemakers
One of the most exciting highlights of my Gold journey was the opportunity to attend the MVP Summit—a prestigious gathering of Microsoft MVPs and Gold Student Ambassadors from around the globe.
🎤 Here, I had the honor to meet fellow Gold Ambassadors, exchange ideas, and discuss collaborations on real-world tech projects and student-led innovations.
🤝 The summit served as a gateway to global networking, helping me connect with like-minded leaders passionate about cloud, AI, education, and open-source.
💬 The conversations were enriching, the stories inspiring, and the opportunities limitless.
This experience reaffirmed the power of community-driven growth and the strength of the Microsoft ecosystem in enabling young technologists to lead with impact.
🧑🏫 Reaching Gold – Teaching AI, Mentoring Schools, and More
As a Gold Ambassador, I took on a new role: giving back more deeply.
💬 I delivered hands-on AI and Copilot sessions for students, focusing on real-world use cases.
👩🏫 I conducted sessions as an Industrial Mentor for faculty, bridging academia with current industry practices.
🎓 I mentored school students, helping them grasp AI fundamentals through simplified examples and visual tools.
🎉 I also completed the Explore AI Hoodie Challenge, which recognized my maximum contribution and active involvement in the AI space.
These experiences reminded me that impact is not just upward—it’s also outward. Helping others dream and achieve is the most fulfilling part of this journey.
🙌 Gratitude & Reflections
Every event, challenge, and milestone has been a lesson. The support from my mentors, peers, and community members has been the cornerstone of my journey. Special thanks to Dhaksin and Meenachi for their unwavering support in hosting events.
