We connected the client’s existing SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) database to Power BI using Direct Query, enabling real-time data refresh and on-demand access to metrics without manual intervention.
📊 Interactive Visualizations
Rather than rows of numbers or static graphs, users now interact with layered dashboards featuring:
🔁 Flexible Date Filtering
The solution introduced custom time range selection. Users could toggle between predefined views (e.g., current month) or explore any custom date range to identify trends, gaps or performance shifts.
📈 Business Logic via SQL Views
To ensure data integrity, business rules were defined directly within SQL views, reducing inconsistencies and ensuring that everyone -from analysts to executives- was looking at the same truth.
🧭 Enhanced UI/UX
We prioritized a clean, modern user interface. Features like a side navigation pane, bookmarks and consolidated views made it easy to move between summary insights and deep dives without losing context.
