From early learning to classrooms: Expanding inclusive practices for every age

Over the past few years, I’ve seen a steady rise in educators, carers, and families reaching out for help—not because they lack care or experience, but because they’re overwhelmed by the growing complexity of student needs.

Across the board—from early childhood to primary schools and OSHC services—there’s a consistent cry for support.

I’m hearing the same thing again and again:

“We’re seeing more children struggle with regulation, focus, and engagement—but we don’t know how to help.”

“I’ve got five kids with additional needs and no practical strategies.”

“What can I do to support neurodivergent students without overwhelming the rest of the class?”

These voices aren’t just coming from preschools. They’re coming from primary school teachers, OSHC staff, and learning support educators who are crying out for practical support.

That’s why I’ve expanded my inclusive workshop to support school-aged educators.

Introducing:

🎓 Creating Inclusive Classrooms A hands-on, practical workshop for Primary School and OSHC educators

Rooted in early childhood principles and backed by real experience working with school-aged children, this 1-hour session helps educators:

  • Understand how to create sensory-aware learning spaces

  • Use visuals, cues, and non-verbal communication to reduce stress and increase engagement

  • Adapt everyday activities to suit neurodivergent learners

  • Foster inclusion through play, group work, and interaction

  • Reduce overwhelm—for students and staff

Why Early Childhood knowledge still matters in school settings

The foundations of inclusive practice don’t expire when a child turns five. In fact, many of the most effective classroom strategies come from early years education:

  • Sensory-friendly tools

  • Co-regulation techniques

  • Play-based engagement

  • Non-verbal cues and visual supports

When these are adapted for the school setting, they empower teachers to reach students who might otherwise get left behind.
