From the Pit to the Peak...the 'Shift'

Three things led to a major state change and the start of a journey of rediscovery...

  • Picking up my dumbbells again...daily
  • Meditating...daily
  • Making the Choice that it was time to change Now...

Meditating was a key domino in helping my mind get clear.

I decided this was the simplest action I could implement without too much effort and overwhelm.

Oftentimes, it just consisted of sitting on my bed, breathing steadily becoming aware of my suuroundings...what I could hear and feel.

In time I began to use meditation apps that I felt worked for me (not Australian voices for some reason!?!) I also found walking meditation helped me shift my mind as I focused on being conscious of everything around me and my footsteps.

So where does lifting dumbbells come in I hear you ask?...

Lifting dumbbells, completing daily 'Dragan Lifts' was very much what brought me back physically. The lifts involve controlled movements, synchronising with your breathing and were training my cardio and muscular system all at once. The beauty was to complete 100 of these lifts in one set only took 8-10 minutes. It was Physical Meditation, which I still practice to this day. The founders of this type of training are Dragan and Rajko Radovic who I must acknowledge and thank.

Gradually, over the months (and next 3-4 years) I started to rediscover myself...I was happy, motivated and confident again. I could feel myself lifting and accelerating in life once again.
