As we move through Q2 2025, NIO has made significant strides in infrastructure and power, with ten new NIO Houses and 250 Power Swap Stations and charging stations added globally.

Joining Hands With General Distributors, NIO Continued to Expand Its European Presence

In June, NIO announced that it would expand its presence in Europe between 2025 and 2026 through partnerships with national general distributors. In markets including Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria, and Denmark, five models from two brands will be introduced. The lineup includes the NIO EL6 (ES6 in China), EL8 (ES8 in China), ET5, ET5 Touring (ET5T in China), and firefly. In collaboration with general distributors, NIO will bring innovative, sustainable, and high-quality smart EV experiences to local users.

NIO’s New ES6 EC6 ET5 and ET5T Launched

On May 16, 2025, NIO officially launched its upgraded 6-series SUVs: the smart electric all-round SUV New ES6, and the smart electric coupé SUV New EC6. The user deliveries of the two models in China started on May 20. The New ES6 starts at RMB 338,000 and the New EC6 starts at RMB 358,000. With battery subscription of Battery as a Service (BaaS), the starting prices are RMB 268,000 and RMB 288,000 respectively.

On May 25, 2025, building upon two years of development efforts, NIO officially launched the smart electric mid-size sedan New ET5, and the smart electric tourer New ET5 Touring (ET5T), at Hefei Luogang Central Park, the world’s largest urban central park. The New ET5 and ET5T both start at RMB 298,000. With battery subscription of Battery as a Service (BaaS), the starting price is RMB 228,000.

Formula Student China 2025 Officially Kicked Off

On April 23, the 2025 Formula Student China (FSC) press conference was held at the NIO stand during the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (Auto Shanghai 2025). At the event, the organizing committee announced that the 2025 “NIO Cup” Formula Student Electric China (FSEC) and Formula Student Autonomous China (FSAC) competitions will take place in Hefei this October.

ONVO Unveiled Its Second Model, the L90, at Auto Shanghai 2025

At the 21st Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition ("Auto Shanghai 2025"), which opened on April 23, ONVO debuted its smart large-space flagship SUV—the ONVO L90—under the theme “Open Up a New World, Carry Great Joy.” Built upon NIO’s decade of full-stack in-house technology and outstanding engineering expertise, the L90 features a 240L smart powered front compartment and an unprecedented 6-passenger, 10-suitcase capacity, earning its title as the “King of Space” among three-row SUVs.

firefly Started User Deliveries

On April 29, firefly, a smart electric high-end brand, officially began deliveries of its first namesake model in cities including Beijing, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Hefei, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, and Changzhou. Starting in May, firefly will continue rolling out deliveries across other cities in China.

First Version of NIO WorldModel Launched

On May 30, the first version of the NIO WorldModel (NWM) officially began rolling out. The initial release covers over 400,000 Banyan platform vehicles, with the Cedar platform vehicle update starting at the end of June. Prioritizing safety, the first version of NWM delivers comprehensive upgrades in both technology and user experience across four major scenarios: active safety, highway pilot, urban pilot, and intelligent parking.
