Google's Latest AI Announcements Will Blow Your Mind
Google is already thinking about artificial intelligence to do what it does best: advertising.
Google is taking a cautious approach to artificial intelligence. While Microsoft is accelerating and constantly launching products based on these models, the Mountain View company has barely launched Bard and has done so in the midst of an internal crisis. This does not mean that its managers are at a standstill.
From generating images to generating... advertising? An internal presentation to which the financial newspaper Financial Times reveals how Google "intends to use artificial intelligence to create new ads based on materials produced by human commercials".
The next advertising creative is an AI. That report talks about how "generative AI is unlocking a world of creativity" and points out how advertisers can supply content such as images, text and video and let the AI "remix" them to generate advertising based on the audience it wants to target. Not only that: they also talk about how those AI-generated ads can be matched to sales targets.
Beware of hallucinations. The problems that these models have shown are patent. A source close to the company mentioned that this type of model "is optimized to convert new customers and has no idea what the truth is". Google noted in FT that when it rolls out new generative AI options in the coming months, it will put up barriers to prevent such errors, known as hallucinations.
Performance Max. Google has already begun to integrate certain generative artificial intelligence systems in its office applications, and now it will do the same in Performance Max, a program offered since 2020 in which an algorithm determines where ads should be shown and how the advertising budget should be spent.
Enhancing User Experience with Natural Language Processing
- Google's new AI-powered search engine will look and feel different from the familiar list of search results.
- One of the new features the company unveiled Wednesday was a feature where users will be able to interact with the search bar as if they were talking to a person and get AI-generated answers.

- One of the new features the company unveiled Wednesday was a feature where users will be able to interact with the search bar as if they were talking to a person and get AI-generated answers.
Instead of searching for something generic like "best national parks," for example, a user can ask Google a question as if they were asking a friend who knows the best national park to visit with young children and a dog, Cathy Edwards, vice president and general manager of Google Search Ecosystems and Discovery, explained during the event.
"Which visit is more recommended for a family with children under 3 and a dog, Bryce Canyon or Arches [both U.S. national parks]?" asks one user.
"Even though it's a question you ask yourself, you probably wouldn't write it this way today," Edwards noted. "You would break it down into smaller questions, search through the information and then figure it out yourself; now, the search engine does that work for you."
This summary will also include links to the sources, and users can opt to view a different presentation format that breaks down the sources behind the summary, Edwards said. In addition, this AI-generated text also encourages interaction by suggesting questions to click on, evoking a chatbot experience.
Intelligent Image Recognition for Visual Search
Visual search is another area where Google's AI is making waves. By harnessing the power of image recognition technology, Google is enabling users to search the web using images rather than text. This revolutionary feature opens up a whole new world of possibilities for e-commerce, fashion, interior design, and more.
Intelligent image search is one of the best tools you can use to find the images you need quickly and easily. This technology is based on artificial intelligence (AI), which means you can trust that your results will be accurate and relevant.
The AI finds your images in a very intuitive way. When you use these tools, the AI analyzes the visual content of your search and uses this information to find the most suitable images for you. This technology is especially useful when you are looking for specific images, such as those that contain a certain color or are related to a particular theme.
To discover images with artificial intelligence, all you have to do is use a search engine that uses this technology. Google Images is one of the most popular and effective on the market. If you use it, you will immediately notice a big difference in the quality of the results you get.
You can find your photos with AI anytime, anywhere. If you have an image on your screen and want to find similar ones, you can use image search tools that use AI to find matches. You can also search for images from text by simply typing a description in the search engine of your choice.
One of the main advantages of AI image search is that it saves you time. You can get the results you need faster and more accurately than with traditional searches. In addition, AI uses cookies to collect information about your search habits, allowing you to get even more relevant results in the future.
In short, whether you are looking for images for marketing, news or any other purpose, AI image search is the most effective way to find accurate and relevant results. So don't hesitate to use this tool to improve your image search results.
Smarter Virtual Assistants for Seamless Integration

Safeguarding Privacy and Security with AI
The protection of personal data is challenged by the rapid development and deployment of Artificial Intelligence (hereinafter "AI"), as its use necessarily involves the processing of massive data, including different categories of personal data. As the Norwegian Personal Data Protection Agency rightly points out, most AI applications require large volumes of data to learn and make intelligent decisions. In that sense, data is necessary not only for AI to reach its full potential, but also for AI to avoid biases or errors when processing.
It is worth remembering that the Peruvian legislation takes as a normative reference the Spanish Organic Law on Personal Data Protection of 1999, so it was designed in a historical context in which the amount of data was limited, it was possible to have control over those who made its treatment and the purposes for which they were being used. The rapid advance of technology and AI tools have brought changes that enable the processing of millions of data in different parts of the world and by different actors at an unimaginable speed; these changes have caused regulations to be outdated in the face of these new challenges.
Now, the question arises as to the scenarios in which AI may generate a risk to the personal data subject. In order to answer this, we should point out that there are two aspects of AI that are particularly relevant to privacy. The first is that AI itself can make automated decisions, and the second is that the system develops by learning from the experience and information provided. The question then arises: Is it possible to combine the development of AI with appropriate handling of personal data?
In this regard, Article 28 of the Personal Data Protection Law establishes the obligations of data controllers and data processors. Consequently, the regulations referring to the protection of personal data shall apply when artificial intelligence is being developed with information containing personal data. This provision will also apply when AI is used for profiling analysis and decision making on individuals.
It is imperative, therefore, that the controller ensures compliance with the principles set out in the Personal Data Protection Act:
-Legality: The processing of personal data is done in accordance with the provisions of the Personal Data Protection Law. In this sense, the processing of personal data must be carried out with full respect for the fundamental rights of its owners. The collection of personal data by illicit or fraudulent means is prohibited.
-Consent: In order to process personal data, the consent or authorization of the person who is the owner of the personal data must be obtained.
-Purpose: Personal data should not be processed for a purpose other than that stated at the time of collection.
-Proportionality: Any processing of personal data must be appropriate to the purpose for which they were collected, using the information that is essential and sufficient, without excess.
-Quality: The personal data processed must be truthful, accurate and adequate. They must be kept in such a way as to ensure their security and only for the time necessary to fulfill the purpose of the processing.
-Security: The owner of the personal data bank and the data processor must adopt the necessary measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of the personal data they manage.
Adequate level of protection: For the transborder flow of personal data, a sufficient level of protection must be guaranteed for the personal data to be processed or, at least, comparable to the provisions of this Law or international standards on the matter.
Conclusion: Embracing the Future with Google's AI
Google just showed the future of its search engine: Bard is going to destroy how we have searched for 25 years.
At Google I/O 2023, the company dedicated an important space to artificial intelligence. In this field we have seen news (and above all expansion) in Bard and also the launch of PaLM 2, a new AI model. The aim is to face ChatGPT, which is currently the AI with the most popularity among consumers.
But Google does not want to stop at these AI models, and has also announced a function that is in the experimental phase in what is known as Google Labs. This is an AI integrated into the search engine to avoid having to perform Google searches with keywords as a robot, but can get to hold a conversation to find a new bike or make a reservation at a vacation spot.
