Canada Applies SNAc Provisions to Trixylyl Phosphate to Limit New Uses 

On March 26, 2025, Canada amended the Domestic Substances List to apply Significant New Activity (SNAc) provisions to trixylyl phosphate. This measure requires prior notification before any new use that could significantly increase human or environmental exposure. EPA Delays PFAS Reporting Deadline for Manufacturers 

On May 12, 2025, the EPA delayed the start of PFAS reporting under TSCA Section 8(a)(7) from July 2025 to April 2026. ECHA Proposes EU-Wide Restrictions on Chromium(VI) Substances to Protect Health 

On April 29, 2025, ECHA proposed an EU-wide restriction on certain hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) substances due to their carcinogenic risks. The restriction targets Cr(VI) substances in entries 16 to 22 and 28 to 31 of the REACH Authorisation List. Europe: EU Drafts REACH Fee Regulation Update with New SME Verification Rules 

The European Commission has proposed a 19.5% fee increase under REACH to account for inflation from 2021–2023. This increase will not apply to SMEs, who will need to verify their SME status in advance. ECHA may introduce an administrative fee for this verification process. ECHA Publishes Formaldehyde Emissions Guideline Ahead of August 2026 EU Restriction
