Gratitude and Reflection as Neuro Alert Exits

July 2nd, 2024 marked a pivotal moment in my career as my family exited Neuro Alert’s Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM) service to Accurate Neuromonitoring. (Announcement post here! My sincere thanks to them for their support during this pivotal transition for me and my family.) Reflecting on the past 12 years, I am overflowing with gratitude and pride. My team and I built something extraordinary, rooted in a commitment to patient care, quality, and a relentless quest for excellence.

Growing up with two dedicated physician parents, my mother, Dr. Surya Seshan, and my late father, Dr. T.V. Seshan, instilled in me a profound respect and compassion for fellow clinicians, patients, and the impact we have on lives as healthcare providers. Every step of our journey at Neuro Alert (in both good and challenging times) has been guided by these tenets–ensuring that we always prioritize the well-being of those we serve. My first, foremost, and highly affectionate thank you goes to my incredibly accomplished and brilliant parents. They gave me the space, the confidence, and encouragement to pursue Neuro Alert as my own.

From learning about IONM from my late father (who began in IONM during the early 1980s) to leading a team of professionals, every moment has been filled with invaluable learning, opportunities, and memories. I am deeply grateful for the incredible team that helped to build, operate, and represent Neuro Alert over all of its years of existence. The commitment, compassion, professionalism, and kindness of these amazing individuals are the driving force behind our success–demonstrating to our clients and partners how we consistently deliver IONM at the highest levels of standard and quality. It has been my honor and privilege to work alongside a team that has helped me grow and identify as a leader. From them, I have also learned even more about our fascinating field of neurodiagnostics and what it has to offer in the future.

To our partners, vendors, and clients—your partnership and collaboration have been instrumental in Neuro Alert’s story. Your trust, support, and friendship have allowed us to build a practice that has positively impacted spine, brain, and vascular surgery for so many years. I am sincerely thankful for the relationships we’ve built and for the growth/experiences we have enjoyed with your support. I look forward to continuing these relationships in new and exciting ways.

In announcing my move from Neuro Alert, I am excited to share my journey forward with Global Electroneurodiagnostics LLC–an extension of my commitment to and passion for improving patient outcomes through the intersection of innovation, technology, and patient care.

At Global Electroneurodiagnostics, my team and I will harness our collective experiences to build teams and develop cutting-edge neurodiagnostic tools. We are exploring innovative solutions that utilize advanced medical technologies, signal processing, and various artificial intelligence architectures. Our objective is to push the boundaries of what is possible in neurodiagnostics and medicine at large, ensuring that these advancements translate into real-world benefits for patients and a global democratization to access these solutions. This work will involve creating technologies that enhance precision in diagnosis and treatment, ultimately improving the quality of life for patients and setting new standards of care in the deployment and use of neurodiagnostics.

This transition is not just a professional shift but also a personal one. While it is emotionally difficult to step away from Neuro Alert, I am eager to embrace new challenges to make a meaningful impact–pursuing my passion for technological innovation while harnessing the power of deep collaboration with highly-skilled engineers, technology professionals, and clinicians.

There are MANY of you who have had a great impact on my life and career. It would take dozens more of these articles to share these feelings. All I can say is, Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
